What is it with some people being unable to speak simple and proper English these days? :nono:

Totes on the babble, my peeps! I think some words are an epic fail, and they'll make me hurl, probs.

Don't say "anywho" or you'll make me pop a cap in yo' a$$. I talk with style, not that silly sheet, come at me bro'. You wish you was me, get on my level.

:sun:

Can you dig?

(Please Note: if you have a teenager at home, and they have recently been doing something they shouldn't, this is how you fix it; tell them to invite a couple of friends over. Hang around while your teen and the friends are playing video games. Talk to the kids and try to work as many of the above expressions into the conversation as possible. The "pop a cap" line might take a little finesse, but it is WELL worth it. Watch your teen cringe and squirm. Enjoy. )

because I ain't well educated like you... is there sucha word as "ain't"?... :read:  ...

"It is what it is" is the most useless statement I ever heard. What else could it be but what it is?

OH YEAH, Mme Bijoux, I'm with ya on that dude! "It is what it is" gave me a headache the first time I heard it -- everybody at Tiffany's, about 12 yrs ago, suddenly started telling each other all day long that it was what it was. YOU KNUCKLEHEADS, of course it is! I wanted to shout.

VRB, "Gifted," "Gift to" :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire: Even requires an extra syllable, so it's not easier to say -- instead of "gave him a black eye," you have to add a word: "gifted him with a black eye." So that's 2 extra syllables.

Where did that silly change come from? Sorry, PSers, whom I love dearly, WHY adopt like sheep an awkward incorrect usage? Sorry to rant, but that one gets right smack under my skin!

Oh Ilander!!! you just went to the top of my list of people I adore!!! That is perfect!! It just seemed to roll of your 'fingers' like it was your natural speech pattern!!! I love it!!! :appl: :appl:

"Cliff" anything. Fiscal and otherwise. Or I might just find one and throw myself off.

"Gate" anything. It's 39 years since Watergate, and this is so very played out.

"My bad." Sorry. Bad is still not a noun.

All the "totes, vacay, realz", etc. is just the 21st century form of Valley-speak, isn't it? It's annoying, but I don't pay any attention to idiots who want to be this juvenile. When actual adults, with some level of respectability, start using dumb speech to express themselves . . . that's when I wonder what the h*ll is wrong with the world.

But the one phrase, written here much too frequently, is "I think I just threw up a little in my mouth". Please stop it.

That's gay.

It's usually meant as a put down.

That one just makes me angry. Irate.

I think it's time to retire "artisan," too. Just how many mass-produced items (most from Chinese factories) can advertisers tout as "artisan."

I kind of like "It is what it is." We're not allowed to say "It's a piece of s__t," so "is what it is" is a nice euphemism. LOL (Or did I just set somebody off by using LOL??? )

"What it is is", seriously? What's with the double "IS".

My all time "favorite": calling something an INVESTMENT when it's actually a COST. It's not an INVESTMENT unless it is paid for with the goal of making a profit. So that horrendously expensive (white) dress? NOT an investment. Neither is your car, fancy pots and pans, your iPhone/iPad/new techie gadget, or the like. You're just calling it an investment so you don't feel like an (epic) fool for spending ALL. YOUR. MONEY.

Bling, however IS an investment since it can appreciate in value. ;))

Hey! Another thing I do! I think I just threw up a little in my mouth!
It's hard to convey how much I hate something on the web to people I don't really know. So... I use that!
So sue me! <--- another I hate

NOOOO! Lol...sorry about that! I just really dislike YOLO!! We had some kids spray paint that on one of our neighbors garages behind our house. I see it and cringe every time! It almost makes me want to repaint their garage for them

Along with this one, "that's retarded."

People should know better, but invariably I still hear folks use this.

I don't think I have heard "TOTES" - what does it mean / how is it used?

It's short for totally, apparently since "totally" is a really long word and too taxing to say in full.

oh I was going to ask what Totes means too!

This one may be controversial, but here goes:

Blessed

It is so overused.
