What are your quirky deal breakers?

eta @Maria D -the reason I quoted you-yes! I think they think it's grass or something. My dear Siamese I had until months shy of 20 did this. There could be one patch of carpet in a sea of hardwood and she would seek it out.

There's a theory that the reason cats look for a carpeted area is because the force of vomiting causes them to slide backwards. Carpet gives them something to grip - 'cause who wants to be sliding around while puking?

My neighbor's cat moved in with us (with her permission) last year and he's the first cat (out of many) that I've had who politely pukes on tile. He's a smart one - back legs on the carpet under the kitchen table for stability, vomit on the tile for easier clean-up.

Wow, I've hi-jacked a thread to discuss cat puke!

This is very interesting info, actually! I never knew that!

Anecdotal….never had a pet that puked where it was "convenient"….:)

Yes, we have mainly hardwood floors everywhere but one area rug and inevitably that is where the cats will puke. And now we have an elderly cat who poos and pees nowhere near the litter box anymore and well let's just say he chooses the areas that are the hardest to clean. LOL and Oy Vey. BUT we have found a solution. We bought rubber mats and place wee wee pads over them and now he is peeing there. Still pooing in other areas but poo is easier to clean than pee. These days I am just happy when he poos because he is very constipated despite the Lactulose I feed him every day to help him go.

LOL what a post.

Haha I actually like some people’s BO and not others. Not a judgement thing, just sort of reflex olfactory response. Certainly I don’t think people are shaming people’s preferences for (or against) their own body hair and odor expressions or that of their partners.

Yes. Some guy's smell has made me recoil. Others make me want to pass out- in a good way. One of my turn ons is simply watching men -work doing laborsome activities, or sports. I always assumed having an apoealing smell was an ultimate dealbreaker for most, but something not talked about.

I am going to update my deal breakers. Not wanting to be a part of all parts of my life, including hanging out with me and my kids. There are things I love about the guy I've been seeing. But it's also kind of breaking my heart because I would love to plan a vacation of just renting a house somewhere with my kids and maybe some people in my family, and having the guy I am with there are well.
