Hello all,

I have been reading through the forums a lot over the last two months and have come up with a stone that I may want to purchase. Before I do I would like any and all opinions.

I have had a chance to compare this stone to about 6 others all within pretty much the same specs. The diamond has so much sparkle that I was comparing all of the diamonds to it. Here are the specs:

E.G.L. Certified (EGL2803397234)
RB 1.5 cts
VS2
H
7.24 - 7.17 x 4.57 mm
depth 63.4%
Table 57%
Crown Height 15%
Pavilion Depth 43%
Girdle Medium, faceted
Graining - Nil
Fluorescence - Very Slight Blue
Comments from the Certificate: TOLKOWSKY IDEAL CUT - 8 Hearts and 8 Arrows
Polish and Symmetry both Very Good

What do you think I should pay to make this a good deal?

THANKS!

Based on the report number I assume it's EGL-israel?

1. If GIA or AGS was grading the diamond, it would not earn colour H and clarity VS2. It could be anywhere from 1-2 grades lower in either or both of those departments. If you're okay with that, then it might be something to consider.
2. Very deep at 63.5 - you're losing a lot of face-up spread. Can you get a sarin done to get crown/pavilion angles instead of percentages?
3. Whether it's H&A is anyone's guess without a hearts image.

Thanks for the reply. I can''t comment on where it was certified. I can''t find that info on the certificate.

The grading factor of the EGL certified diamonds were my concern as well but after comparing the H of this diamond to a number of others (some of which were GIA certified) I can say that is looked whiter than all of the others.

I am trying to figure out in my head if it is large enough or not but either way what do you feel a good deal of a price would be for this. I can say that first hand it was a very nice diamond in comparison to the others that I saw but even with that being know I am more interested in a good value. And that is where all of you are experts at this.

thanks

yep!

It is facing up considerably small for 1.5cts, I would keep looking personally.
