Chatoyancy, no, it was bought around 2012 or so. I bought it from Eric Saul and it was set by Marc Sarosi. I should make a thread about it. It has been certified and it is untreated Tanzanian.

My Mogok untreated pink sapphire (though local lab calls it ruby after pondering over 2 days), blue sapphires and red spinel.

@Burmesedaze I really wonder what those pink sapphires would look like in northern climates with less light, wonder if they'll look redder up north as they theoretically should. Do you have pictures vacationing with them?

It's an Umbalite Garnet, cut by Gene. It was my very first colored stone 10 years ago and still my favorite.

Thank you, I'm flattered. Setting is actually from a random jeweler in NYC Diamond District, I don't even remember their names. I used to work a block from there and my FI at the time and I just went out with my newly acquired garnet searching for a setting, found the perfect setting that fit the stone and walked out with a completed ring a few hours later.

I found some old photos showing the setting from different angles in case you were interested. It really is a unique setting, and very delicate in person.

The color and shape of the gem is a perfect mate to the setting. What an all around beautiful ring!

Thank you! Since I lost my original engagement ring, this is my oldest ring I have and have such a huge sentimental value to me.
