I’d been really jonesing for a silver Keshi strand and then I remembered I had my OG Tahitian circle strand and bracelet from CMW. I wasn’t wearing them all that much so I turned them into one necklace. I still wasn’t wearing them because it was sort of a weird length, so I got one more bracelet from CMW, added gold spacers and boom! Now I’ll definitely wear this more often and I think it’s scratched my silver Keshi itch. E8C2E355-CC3A-4C66-B635-8A17440FDF31.jpeg

Bought these as vintage cultured akoya... I actually bought the strand for the clasp, which I'd harvested by the time I took this pic. I was wondering if these were even pearls, and if so what sort - "old bead cultured akoya" seems right on. They're pretty ugly to be honest, but in strangly endearingly fashion  ~3.5mm-6mm.

I don't know what that nucleus is, sure doesn't look like the usual orangey striated FW mussel shell. Vendor estimated early 1900s on these and according to #TheInternet farmers were experimenting with all sorts of materials back then... Thought about sending them to GIA to find out what the bead material is, exactly, but that's sadly not something GIA will answer.

Just sharing some pics for fun ::)

That is quite literally precisely what I did  the wire cutters produced more pearl powder than anything usable and I'd need three extra lifetimes to get through even one of these things with a hand file!

…and the clasp, please? What does it look like?!

Clasp got reused with coral. Nothing fancy, but I've been looking for something like this for a litle while so I'm happy ::) I only ever wear my coral beads with pearls, so the fact that there's a pearl in the clasp works out just fine! Diamonds are "swiss cut" apparently.

Super pretty clasp, and coral color! Thanks for the photos. :)

Thank you!! I went on a bit of a vintage coral bead binge a few years ago  I was in Australia for a few years growing up and we spent so much time in the reefs, coral is still precious to me ❤️

I got this ring earlier this week. It’s the coolest setting and the pearls are super rainbow’y (not the technical term, I know). This is the first time I’ve tried to wear a pearl ring, though. I really have to tone down my arm swinging when I walk.

this isnt mine, i brought it for a gift
Gary would go mad if he knew i was trying on a gift :lol-2:
my boss's daughter who i occasionally work with invited us all to her 21st but because of fear of bringing homr covid i didnt go
she is a trully lovelly girl as are the entire family
it was just an informal get together in a bar downtown
but i really wanted to get her something
her birthstone is pearl but when i looked at micheal hill (mall jewler) i couldn't see anything nice enough and their pearl quality is well questionable

so i found this on etsy
it took ages to arrive (well a month but i didn't get one single update but i know shipping is slow so i told myself not to panic)

i know the younger ones like minimalistic
im a '70's child, i have never done minimalistic

i got a 20" chain just to be sure :lol-2:
it sits nicely when on
the pearls are tiny
the luster is certainly no worse than micheal hill but a bit more wallet friendly

I won these at an auction almost a month ago. It feels like it’s taken an eternity to get them. They were so worth it. I wasn’t sure the colors were going to be so saturated. They’re 12-16 mm with 14k beads and clasp. I think it may be time for me to take a little buying break now (famous last words) 129907BC-6577-4035-B1B3-13FF2ACA8D64.jpeg 74BE3A6D-6C00-4C39-9AB9-48863C88849D.jpeg
