Aww, Amber, bummer! At least it's shiny, though -- maybe next year you can get something sparkly to go with it!

Skippy, I love the heart-shaped pizza! How cute. My b'day is Valentine's Day & when I was a kid, I always had a heart-shaped b'day cake.

And since this year is a beeeg b'day for me, I'm getting a new wedding ring! Waiting for quotes now, yahooo.

aww that is sweet, Happy birthday soon! :wavey: Yay for a new wedding ring!!!

Circe, how beautiful! That's inspired me to get creative.

Everyone has such great ideas! ::)

We will be in different cities the day of, so we get to celebrate the Saturday after...yay for chocolate all being on sale by then! ;)) As for gifts, I got some boudoir shots done, and will be picking out some photos to put into a little black book for him! :naughty:

Ah! Look at that! It falls on a Thursday this year, YES!

This means husband will get out of work at a decent time and so will I :praise:

I don't mind Valentine's day at all. I like to go out to dinner with husband, drink some wine, and watch a movie. We don't buy each other anything really. I always buy him a card and once in a while I'll buy something cool if I see something that I like a lot. He usually buys me some kind of stuffed animal and flowers. I have A LOT of stuffed animals from over the years haha.

I have fallen in love with Hallmark's "signature" collection and buy nothing but those cards now for every single occasion and person.

Here is the card I got him this year - its made out of felt. So cute.

Actually, I just found something else I want to get him mainly because it will make him laugh (our dog is still a puppy and likes to hump..)

Usually a card.
Maybe flowers or dinner out.

This is the most benign answer I've ever read from you. I'm virtually holding my palm to your forehead to make sure you're feeling ok. I guess you can't always be Kontroversial Kenny? LOL Just teasing you. I hope you have a happy V-Day. :wavey:

Circe, I loved that. Thank you so much for sharing!

DH and I usually try and do something fun, usually coupled with a nice dinner. This year, we're going to the Zoo for an event. There's a champagne welcome, passed hors d'oeuvres, a strolling dinner and bar (2 drink tickets per person, and then cash bar), mini desserts, and then talks about animal mating rituals and whatnot. It should be really interesting and fun! (Not to mention tasty...our Zoo has a super awesome catering department!) The Zoo is one of our favorite date spots, so it's quite appropriate for us. My sister, however, thinks it's "gross". She's 27.

We're super excited, Sarah! We went to the Vday event at the Zoo where we use to live last year. It was much lower-key than this one, but still just as fun! DH and I both love learning and we love animals. When we're old and retired we plan on spending our days at the Zoo as docents. He'll hang with the polar bears and you'll be able to find me with the red pandas, otters, or big cats!

My husband doesn't know this yet but I have a meeting that night, so we won't be doing anything. We usually don't do much anyway, maybe dinner and a movie, but we might do that later in the weekend.

No cards, flowers, chocolates or gift exchange for us. We'll probably stay home and make a nice dinner this year.

Our Valentine's Day restaurant dinner experiences have been hit or miss - mostly miss due to large crowds leading to slow service.

During one restaurant Valentine's Day dinner together, the couple at the table next to us got engaged. The girl was really surprised. That was fun to see.

Since we are arriving in Saigon in the afternoon of valentines day, we have massages, followed by dinner booked in a lovely restaurant. That's plenty for me, after a long flight. Since we are flying through Dubai, hubby has promised several bottles of Amouage perfume from duty free as well.

Super excited! :appl:

So far I've gotten him a video game (he's a total nerd ;) ) - Lego Lord of the Rings for xbox and some candy. I'm not sure what else to get him yet. I usually also send something to his work too. We really never go out because of the kids and having no babysitters nearby so exchanging gifts will be it for us.

Normally we dont do much, DH is of the its a Hallmark holiday, but usually caves and brings home Flowers:) We are planning a trip to Key WEst the next weekend so thats fun. BUt this year I've seen these 52 Reasons I love you projectts on pinterest, and since Im between craft projects I decided to make him one. It took about 3 days and the hardest part was sanding the cards!
I'm actually excited to give it to him. I think he will really like it It was fun coming up with 52 reasons, I actually had to weed someout for the final project. This may sound cheesy, but its made me appreciate him more!
