In all of this research to educate myself about diamonds, I think I missed the chapter on what to do after you found the ''one''. I realize it would be in my best interest to make the purchase ''safe'' that I should have it appraised, but what happens next?
Let''s say I want it set at XXXX which also is where I purchased the diamond.
Since I currently live in Japan, I have two concerns:
1) Shipping. Fedex ships to Japan and I haven''t heard of any negatives about shipping to Japan (taxes?), but would you feel comfortable having a ring shipped overseas? I see that no popular retailer offers to ship to Japan. (We''re talking final product)
2) Return policies. I really hope it wouldn''t happen but if it does, see #1 regarding shipping it back.
Thoughts?
