for hobby, I like to buy mixed lots of gemstones. I''m looking into an affordable way to identify some more tricky stones. I found this meter online. It is very affordable, which makes me worry. I''m just looking for something to help me tell some stones apart. Will this be enough for that?

Those are moderately useful instruments, Presidium is a fine manufacturer and Mineralab is a reputable outfit. That said, what are you hoping to identify with it that you couldn’t do as well with a loupe, a spectroscope and the other more traditional tools? This is not a one stop testing tool, you''ll need these other things as well anyway.
