What about this diamond? Missed out on my last one.

Two more questions.

Are there any other stones from other dealers that I should consider that would be comparable?

Are Brian Gavin Diamonds settings good quality?

Thank you.

:wavey: What is your budget and preference/threshold as well as priority order for things like color, clarity, and carat?

@LarryL Without knowing if you are firm on ‘H’ color or higher, below are all eye-clean super-ideals otherwise ‘comparable’ to what you have in the BGD, no lower than I-color.

CBI options from High Performance Diamond’s:

ACA options from Whiteflash:

Thanks!

I would like the following:

G-H
VS2 or eye clean SI1
2.5ct approximately
$35k budget

I thought the Brian gavin one looked good as it was quite clean and with their sale, about $33-$34k.

It does look good (to me, at least; others may chime in with more/different feedback). But you asked for comparable diamonds, so I took a stab at an approx budget & specs based on the BGD diamond, and there are a few options in your range in my earlier post for you to consider as well, and you can disregard the ‘I’ colored options if they aren’t desireable. :wavey:

Thank you @diamondseeker2006 and others.

The Brian Gavin one is around $33-$34,000 with their 10% off.

Can you let me know why the Whiteflash or Hp diamonds are better given the slight price increase? Keen to learn please!! Is it the dimensions? Inclusions? Vendor experience?

Thanks very much!

I appreciate the comparable stones but wondering why they’re better - newbie needs information!!

Well, much has to do with prior buying experience. I've had several WF ACAs and cflutist has several CBI stones. These two vendors both have been active around here for a long time, and both have super high standards for their stones, great customer service, and the two best upgrade policies. So these just happen to be my top two choices when I look for hearts and arrows stones for myself. I'd ask them about price matching if you are interested in them (although I mean price per carat). I have no idea if they will. Often stones are priced as low as possible, because these two vendors do not price higher and have "sales".

What is this BGD sale? Are you sure it’s on diamonds and not just the setting if you buy a diamond through them? I’ve seen the latter being advertised, but am surprised to read about such a steep discount on the diamond itself. I’m not saying you’re wrong; I’m just not used to seeing it. And when I went to BGD’s site, I didn't see anything advertising a 10% off diamond sale.

I don’t see anything wrong with the BGD stone and if OP is not necessarily interested in doing frequent upgrades, then the better upgrade policies that WF and HPD have may become irrelevant.
I would be interested in understanding if the other vendors will price match per carat as DS suggested. Otherwise, I would go for the most affordable option.

Their sale ends tonight. It’s 10% off diamonds.

:wavey: Thanks! I know they had the March Madness sale, but didn’t know it applied to diamonds. That’s definitely a savings worth factoring into the available options.

Right, savings are a for sure worth considering, I mean, at least for me :)

It’s the little black book April sale, on signature round stones. See the header at the top of the website. It’s for this week.

We won’t be upgrading, it will be a forever stone.

However if Whiteflash or hp diamonds have better stones for their super ideal selection, then I can continue looking. I would like to stay with a super ideal since I don’t know what I’m looking for and have a budget that affords one.

I thought the inclusions were great for the stone too, only 2 small clouds. Am I wrong?

Thanks!

I tried to look at the AGS report for the BG stone but it isn't working for me.

Okay, I saw the report number and looked it up on the AGS site. If you notice on the comments, it says "additional clouds are not shown", which means there are more than the two in red. At VS2, I would not think the clouds would be a problem, but that's something you could ask about.

It didn’t work for me either, but when I clicked on ‘verify’ instead, and ‘view report’, it loaded. HYG (a segment of it, anyway ... quick screen shot of the deets:

Thanks @the_mother_thing! I edited my post above before I saw yours because I looked it up on the AGS site. It's good you posted it though so he can see what I mean under comments.

The stone looks nice. Without being able to see the 3 stones together and compare color, etc., it's a toss up! Nice to have three almost the same to choose from!
