What about this depression-era ring?

All I know is that this ring is from the depression era (~1938) and originates from Milan, Italy.

The stones are said to be diamonds, but they are obviously cut very roughly. Was that normal for that era, with the hard economic times?

We were also told that the double "C" embellishments are a Cartier signature. Is there any substance to this?

The actual ring part (from "CC" to "CC") was later replaced. The original hallmarks indicated 18ct gold, as would be typical for Italy. Details of the hallmarks are not known.

Would you have any historical insights to this kind of ring? Anything you know would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hello Rno, Lovely diamond cluster ring, I love the high carat gold, on my moniter it almost has a rose gold tint, beautiful! I am not expert and hopefully some of the many diamond savy psers will chime in but the outer row of diamonds appear to be rose cut, not necessarily poorly cut but very chunky cuts that were usually used before 1900 although I certainly have seen them used after that. Beautiful ring!

no info for you but it is a lovely ring.
