neither the listing nor the stone make any mention of it being Cuprian and Paraiban. Technically, I suppose any tourmaline from Paraiba can be truthfully claimed to be Paraiban. While not a blatant falsehood , the listing does come off as one laying in wait for a buyer just smart enough to want a Neon Paraiba Tourmaline, but incautious enough to not question the specificity of the wording in the Lab Report and listing.

Here's what it says in the description:

The major gem laboratories have decided that any copper bearing Tourmaline can now be called Paraiba in the trade and will certify them as such.

Any color, apparently & any origin. I hadn't seen this -- I suppose it's true?

I wonder how the lab is able to determine the origin right down to that particular famed locale of Bathala? I supposed this is clearly the case where the buyer is advised to buy the stone and not based on location.

Many sellers call spinel "cobalt blue spinel" and that is allowed, even though there may not be cobalt, but it is deceiving. If the stone is advertised as just "cobalt spinel," it better have cobalt in it.

As for the tourmaline above, it is not the famed neon blue green turquoise color, so I would price it as a regular light green tourmaline, regardless of the copper content. People should not just pay for the copper content, but the vivid saturation of color as well.
