WG vs. Plat. Eternity band?

My 3 stone oval engagement ring and channel set eternity band are set in 14k WG. My husband gave me a .54c platinum channel set eternity band for Christmas, a few sizes too large. We went to exchange it and were talked into ordering the same ring in my size. The jeweller suggested platinum because she thought if I ever upgraded the other rings I may want to go to plat. I have since canceled the order as I think I would like a WG ring with a larger carat weight .75 is my wedding band. I can''t seem to make up my mind and would appreciate any suggestions. I know it''s a personal choice but think it makes sense for all the rings to be the same metal.

get same metal. there are subtle differences between the two that can become quite noticible over time.

I agree. Jewelers have always told me it is a bad idea to mix metal over a long period of time.
