WF Three-Stone Ring

OK, so I had to share the pictures from Whiteflash of my new three-stone ring, which was supposedly shipped today (I haven''t gotten confirmation yet, but I was told it would). The center diamond is from my original e-ring (1.12 ct G SI1), and the side stones are .25 ct each ACAs. The wedding band is from SP, approximately 0.025 ct each stones. Both rings are size 6.5. I''m so anxious to see them in person, I don''t think I''ll sleep tonight - what do you think?!?!!

Thanks you guys. I actually had a moment of paralyzing doubt when I saw that the band was wider than I''d wanted, but I''ve had a bunch of conversations with them about it and I see now that they couldn''t have made it any wider and preserved the flow of the ring while allowing it to sit flush with the wedding band, which was really important to me. The more I look at the pictures the more excited I am. Its supposed to arrive at Fedex at 9am tomorrow so hopefully I can go pick it up before I head to the lab. I''ll be sure to bring my camera to try to take some pictures, although handshots might have to wait until I can get my nails done on Friday, since they''re a mess right now!

Sharon - thanks, that helps to get reassurance. I think I''m just being my usual type A paranoid hyper self, but it helps to have reassurance.

flopkins - I have had problems with my original setting. The first time, it was a four prong, and one of the prongs bent so badly (on a door in my house where I barely felt it opening the door) that the diamond just fell out on the floor. Also, the setting had gotten all bent out of shape and was oval instead of round (I''d only had it about a year). So I sent it back to SP and they apparently just re-shaped it and inserted a new six-prong head, but I have my doubts about the workmanship because one of the prongs got seriously bent again and the ring just snapped where they had inserted the new head. So we just submitted it as a claim to insurance and had WF make this new setting.

alj - my thinking exactly on the increased bling. I had been having serious DSS, but since we''re looking to buy a place of our own in San Francisco, my DH needs a new car sometime soon, and I''m still in grad school, a major upgrade isn''t on the horizon for at least a few years. So this should tide me over in the meantime I''m thinking

Luckily, I have someplace to go to distract me tonight - its my weekly "girls'' nite" dinner - a group of us ladies (mostly graduates of my alma mater Brown U, with one Harvard and a Williams grad) who gather at someone''s apartment for a potluck with a theme. Tonight its comfort food, but I wimped out and I''m bringing a salad because I couldn''t handle more junk food after our lab holiday party today. Now the only challenge is to talk about something other than my ring all night...

Shay - thank you for the sweet comment, and that''s so funny about Brown! I actually wasn''t a huge fan of living in Providence (probably spoiled from growing up in San Francisco

), but I LOVE the Brown campus. DH says he''ll always love it because its where we met (I swear we''re not usually that sickening though

Thanks for the nice words gail - it was very important to me to keep the WB, as I have great sentimental attachment to it. That was why the band had to be so wide, is because it was essential to me that the wedding band sit flush.

So all went well this morning and I''m in happy (did I say happy, I meant ecstatic...) possession of my new rings. I''ve posted a few pictures below, and I promise to take more when I get home in a couple of hours, and also better handshots once I have a manicure and my hands aren''t so swollen (I swear my hands aren''t really as fat as they look in a lot of these, but my asthma meds make them swell sometimes). Also the lighting isn''t the best because its pouring rain today and I work in a lab with flourescent lighting but I''ll try to get some fun Christmas tree shots, and maybe even some kitten shots if he''s willing
