I am looking for a diamond that gives off the best appearance. In this case I would like to substitute size for a better looking diamond. Is a hearts and arrows diamond over the top? Is WF''s price within range?

thanks

scott

What's your budget?? You asked a very open ended question. WF H&A is not over the top, but in order to help you we need to know what the budget is....

Ideal round 1.2-1.3ct H VS2. Budget is 6k/ct. Hearts and arrows is above this,, is the extra worth it or is there just hype with it having HA in it.

Check out WF''s Expert Selection - you are still getting an ideal cut round but without paying the premium for the "A Cut Above" name.
The difference between ACA and ES to the untrained eye (and most trained eye''s) is non existant

I agree WF''s expert selection would be the way to go. Most of these stones just miss the H&A mark. You get the savings and get a beautifully cut stone. If I were you that''s the way I would go. Good luck!!

I agree, check out the expert selection. You can go down in color & clarity to get a larger stone for that price. You can always upgrade to an A Cut Above in the future if you still want it!!

Scott,

I take it that budget is $6K, rather than $6K per carat, right (you''re not doing investment analysis, I hope). You''re close, but not quite right there, if you have either WF, and thereby, most any quality vendor''s pricing in mind. I''d use the search by cut db to do the work for you. For example, for H VS2 1.2 and above, pricing will be closer to starting at $7500, based on what I can see today. Alternately, if you''ll entertain elements of either I, SI 1, or going towards 1.15 (all almost what you want), you''re "right on the money" with either of two options.

Best wishes,

i appreciate everyone''s input. yes, 6k budget. Which of the following dimensions can be manipulated yet still appear to look like an ideal cut? Basically, if you were to go outside of these boundaries, which would be the better to tweak?

table 53-58
depth 58-62.3
crown angle 34.0-34.7
crown height 14-16.3
pav depth 42.8-43.2

you can''t look at just one piece of the puzzle and say ''that''s the least important piece.'' you need to look at the overall picture.
i would pick something that doesn''t effect performance such as color or clarity.
