hello everyone!

it''s been awhile since i posted... things have gotten way busy in my life! but i last posted on here when i was looking for my e-ring and i ended up with a WF Legato Micropave with a 1.51 G VS2 Cushion Cut center stone. I got this ring back in february and i am STILL IN LOVE!!

i never ever ever get sick of staring it at... and i get an INSANE amount of compliments on it... from everyone! (this makes the finace very happy)

anyways... so after months of very stressful times in our families lives, and trying to figure out where our wedding would fit in, we decided to elope on 8/8/08!! we booked our officiant yesterday, and we are so excited!! one problem: here i am two weeks before my wedding and i haven''t a wedding band yet!

...okay, so since we''re eloping, its not so important to me to have a wedding band that day... but the fact that i''ll be a mrs. mighty soon means i need to decide. i love my e-ring, and have read many a thread about the matching halo wedding band and think it''s probably the way im leaning cause if it looks half as good as the e-ring, it''ll look great.

my question is, does anyone have any legato micropave e-ring and wedding band on hand pictures?? thats the one thing holding me back, i think, i really want to see the set together.

...sorry for being so long, and if you made it this far, thanks for listening!!

Can we see pics of your ering? 8-8-08 will be here fore you know it. Congrats.

I dont know of any on finger pictures of both, but did you see driver''s pic? Here is the band and the e-ring together. I think they look wonderful together. Hope this helps!

Congrats on your up coming wedding! Good luck with your band search

08-08-08 the hubby will never have an excuse for not remembering your anniversary! What are you going to wear at the ceremony? Your ring is pretty, and I like bands that are non-matchy. Since there are diamonds in the e-ring band, a plain band a bit wider or thinner with milgrained edges would look elegant. Congratulations on the impending nuptuals!

Gorgeous ring - we need handshots!

thanks everyone!!

i have been trying to no avail to get some pics of my ring... how do y''all do it?? everytime i try, they are either all washed out, or ugly! LOL

i really need some help with picking a band because i need to order it tomorrow... ive been thinking maybe eternity, but i really like a plain band, but the fiance says he "hates" that look...

and i like the matching band, but for me...it''s just okay... i guess im just worried cause, while one of the reasons that i loved this setting to begin with was the thin band, if i want to wear the wedding band alone for whatever reason, i feel like the wf matching band is just too skimpy... ack! so many options, too much to think about!!

Hey, JandJ congrats! The big day is almost here! I understand how you feel cause my wedding was not long ago-thrilled, nervous, happy and just a little horrified maybe? Probably even the small problems just seem like the Apocalypse right now but it''s ok. You forget it all on your wedding day.
As for the band dilemma, I wasn''t sure exactly what I want either. As my ering has unusual shape I could''t find a matching band and I personally don''t like bands with curved design to fit the ring. I love plain bands but just like your fiance I don''t like the look of it together with the ering. Besides I really wanted something that I could wear alone. So I went for a plain but massive two tone gold band in white and yellow gold that I wear on my right hand and the ering-on my left hand. The downside is that I can''t wear them together, but my husband recently surprised me with an ering upgrade so I''m planning to get a really thin and delicate eternity band to wear with my ering and I still have a wedding band to wear alone! Just another option for you to consider.

Whatever you decide, I''m sure you band will be beautiful! Best of luck and have a happy wedding!

omg, its like you know me!! :) yeah, right now, my head''s pretty much spinning 24/7! i took the day off work yesterday just so that i could tie up wedding loose ends. and i already know that i am gonna be pretty much worthless at work today! lol!

i think i am going to order the matching band today... i can always return it i guess, and right now it sounds like the best option.

i was also thinking about the diamonds for eternity band with my e-ring... what do you think of this option??

http://www.whiteflash.com/Wedding_Bands/Diamonds-for-an-Eternity--3-4-_1069.htm

would that look wierd with the micropave?

LOL, well no mantic abilities here, I guess all brides seem to be a little hysterical when the wedding approaches. I know I was

I really like that matching band and I think it looks great with the ring. BTW your ring is amazing!
30.gif
I''m not sure about the eternity band. It''s stunning but maybe it will compete with the ring?

I think the larger stones in the eternity ring will take away from the daintiness of the micropave. Perhaps get the matching band to wear with your engagement ring and the eternity ring for your right hand! Best of both!

I love the legato micropave, and I think it looks especially pretty with the matching band. Or maybe two matching bands, one on each side?

I agree that the micropave is a delicate look. I would go for the matching band over the larger stones.

so i ordered the matching band today, and just in time!! it will be delivered on 8/7-- WHEW! :)

yeah i am thinking two bands possibly, one on each side, and then if i want to wear just the bands, the two of them will have a bit more of a substantial look, but still keep the delicacy that i love.

when i get my band i wll try to get some pics and hand shots! (ill also have to ask my photographer to take some pics of it, so then a professional can get the job done! hehe)

thanks for your input everyone!

...and to the gals considering this setting, you won''t be disappointed!!! :)

Beautiful!!!

I think you made a great decision and your ring is gorgeous. Please post hand shots when you can. Good luck!!

****please don''t hate me, im being absolutely honest!!!****

oh my goodness... thank you so much everyone!! ...and dont you know it, im at work again right now... but i did take some pics, we''ll see how they turn out, on the side, does anyone have any tips for taking ring photos?" mine just dont seem to turn out!!

...anyways, i posted another thread in the rocky talky section... but i guess ill open the discussion up here as well... i never wanted anything but this setting... simple, elegant, and very "clean lines, basic" but to me very refined... well, now after having it for some time, i am starting to lust after the halo bezel.... and to be honest, i never liked the halo look, i thought it was people trying to look like they had bigger rocks than they did... well now after having a real rock (which i never have in my life) i''ve gone from bein ga-ga about it (okay i still am!) to starting to wish it was a bit sparklier...if you know what i mean... and a halo would do that beautifully.... the FI is a bit perplexed (which i admit i would be too, lol) but i really feel like it would be great, but would love your input!!! any converts out there? would just love your stories! :) :)

First of all... CONGRATS!!!!!!

I ADORE YOUR RINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I understand! I at first was NOT a halo girl. I, too, thought they were for people trying to make their center stones bigger. And I thought they looked trendy. Never saw one in real life. But then after seeing Allycat's Leon halo, I started to change my mind. It was elegant, timeless and...WOW!

Fast forward to 2008... I saw one in real life. I tried it on. We both FELL IN LOVE. FI told me not to try it on at first...said it looked like an evil eye. LOL. But when I did try it on, he said, "Oh my God." He said it was so sparkly, so beautiful and so WOW. It was SO sparkly, it was HUGE, it was WOW. AND... it made the center stone look HUGE. I had a sizeable rock and here was this halo'd beauty with a 1 carat outsparkling my rock! And it looked just as big!!! LOL. So I started to wonder, "If the halo can do that for a 1ct, what can it do for my nearly 3 carat?"

And wow. I am so happy. BUT... on the other side, I also love the simplicity of a solitaire. And you have added bling! Also as a cautionary tale, many halo owners have gone BACK to their solitaire settings. It is a dressy ring. But also it is classic, to me. Even Tiffany added them, and so has Harry Winston and others. It is the new classic, in my opinion. It is a little "movie star," but why not? Be Fabulous if you want to! Rock it.

So I had a happy ending with my halo and never plan to go back. If I get a bigger rock later, I will wear it on my right hand. But this is my forever ring and hey, I have no more finger space anyway. But I've been where you are. Fell in love with the stone, but wanted to highlight its beauty to the best of its ability. I felt a halo was the perfect frame for it. Kind of like how you'd want to put a Monet inside the BEST frame possible to showcase its beauty? Va va va voom or simple elegance? What's your style?
19.gif
Do you want glimmer or POW?

And sometimes the simplest settings are the best for the diamond to be the Hero. It really doesn't need any added anything. But add something and it will be dynamite, too. It's like a push up bra for diamonds.
31.gif
If diamonds are boobs... Some people like the Baywatch diamonds, some like the Scarlett J diamonds... Some like the Cameron Diaz diamonds! LOL.

But I have to say... I think your rings are VERY WOW and very beautiful.

Maybe for an anniversary? What an exciting time for you!!! Congrats, from the bottom of my heart. You sound very happy, girl!

I responded to your other thread about the halo, but with respect to wedding bands, I think the matching one would be best. I also agree that the diamonds for an eternity band would not go well...it''s not similar enough to be a matching band, but not different enough to be a non-matching band, if you know what I mean. I do think the scattered diamond band in the smallest width (maybe even tweaked to be smaller than 3 mm with even tinier diamonds in it) would be kind of cool. I worry that it would overshadow your micropave if it''s too big, so that''s why I''d consider tweaking it to be thinner.

OMG!!! thank you thank you thank you to all that responded!! i love the mix of opinions on here, and i truly think that i really need to "try out" some rings with that setting style... maybe get a cheapie halo-type ring to previe/test drive first?!

with a 1.51 ct center stone, i know not huge, but will a halo be too bulky do you think??

JandJ, your ring is beautiful and I love the matching WF wedding band. I posted in your other thread but really think you should just keep it as is for a while. See if adding the band gives it a little more sparkle. Then in a few months if you still really want to change you can do so. A 1.5 cushion is a great size for a halo, if you go that route and not to bulky at all IMO, just make sure the halo stays very small and delicate.

mrs salvo! thank you! i truly think you are right... and you echo all of my sentiments in my head (if i could just drown out my crazy all over the place thoughts!) thanks for listening, and i agree with you! i DO love my ring, and so even if i do decide to get it reset, its not like i have to do it immediately... and if im being honest with myself, the idea might have been spurred by wedding-mania... and even if not, i can certainly stand my gorgeous ring for quite some time while i sport a cheapie halo to see if i *really* want to wear that kind of setting on a day to day basis...

THANK YOU for your input! :)
