Hi Everyone!

I am brand new to PS and this is my first post. But I have been browsing the forum for a few months now and it seems like there are some great experts and an amazing amount of experience on here. So I hope some of you can help me to pick out the perfect diamond for an engagement ring.

I have done some research and have come across 3 different stones, from 3 different venders.

1) Shane Co. Shane Classic Diamond: $7,255
Shape: Round
Cut: Excellent
Polish and Symmetry: Excellent
Carat: .94
Color: F
Clarity: SI1
Measurements: 6.26 - 6.29 x 3.90 mm
Depth: 62.2%
Table: 57%
Crown Angle: 35.5%
Crown Height: 15.5%
Pavilion Angle: 40.8%
Pavilion Depth: 43.0%
Star Length: 50%
Lower Half: 80%
Girdle: Medium, Faceted, 3.5%
Culet: None

2) WhiteFlash A Cut Above: $7,495
Shape: Round
Cut: AGS Ideal (0)
Carat: .95
Color: F
Clarity: SI1
Not sure of exact measurements, but it is an ACA Hearts and Arrows Diamond, and to my knowledge the criteria are pretty strict.

3) Good Old Gold Superior Round Hearts and Arrows Diamond: $6,664
Shape: Round
Cut: AGS Ideal (0)
Polish and Symmetry: 0
Carat: .92
Color: G
Clarity: VS1
Measurements: 6.33 - 6.30 x 3.77 mm
Depth: 59.8%
Table: 61%
Crown Angle: 34.0%
Crown Height: 13.1%
Pavilion Angle: 41.0%
Pavilion Depth: 43.2%
Girdle: 3.6%
Culet: None

My Budget is around 6.5k-7.5k, and I am planning on putting the stone inside of a Halo setting.
My preferences are around .9-.95 carats, color between G-F, Clarity between SI1-VS1, and the best cut possible.
Although any and all feedback or suggestions are more than welcome. I am hear to learn!

Thanks in advance!

Welcome! I don't know anything about the Shane but I have several WF ACA and I highly recommend them!!!

Re: WF ACA vs GOG Superior Round vs Shane Classic. Which one

There's not enough information on the Shane Company diamond for me to have an opinion. Does it come with a GIA or AGS grading report? If not, I'd pass on that diamond.

The GOG diamond has a table that is larger than its depth, which is certain type of "look" usually not recommended here on PS. The very large table means that the diamond may show a lot of table glare when tilted, in certain lights.

The WF diamond is the safest choice. It will be a beautiful diamond. And WF has excellent return and trade-in policies.

So without knowing more about how the Shane Company diamond was graded, and by whom, I'd recommend the WF diamond.

ETA: With SI 1 clarity, you should check to make sure that both the Shane Company and WF diamonds are eye clean to your preferences. Have you asked your WF rep if the diamond is eye clean? And have you seen the Shane Company diamond in person to see if it is eye clean (meaning that the inclusions in the diamond are not visible to you or your future fiancee under most or all lighting conditions?)

ACA +100

My eternity ring & tennis bracelet are from WF, I've never seen a diamond(s) look so incredible.
You can't go wrong.

Remember, you can spend your budget 1x only! Best of luck!

Looking at the website, it looks like Shane Classics are GIA-certed.

I do agree that ACA is the way to go.

Thank you all so much!

I am having the Shane Co one brought into the location near me, and ordering the ACA so I can compare them side by side. I am confident that the ACA will win out, given its reputation, but figure the least I can do is compare them.

Does WhiteFlash tend to be flexible at all on their pricing? Or are they pretty firm?
