I have 4 WF ACA diamonds that I have found. They are all in my price range and I am wanting to get second opinion from the helpful people here on the forum. Thanks in advance for the recommendations.

The fiance to be is wanting a 1.5ct but I would be willing to sacrifice carat weight for a better diamond. From what I have read, you can't really go wrong with the WF ACA. Right now, I am leaning towards the 1.508ct diamond but I like the last diamond (1.226ct) because of the much cheaper price. Thoughts??

Size difference between the 1.5 and the cheapest is pretty significant.

Thanks for the response. Do you see anything wrong with the 1.508ct? I may go with that one :)

If it is eye-clean, it's a nice option.

I would be too afraid of the drop to an AGS I color, personally for a princess cut. I think they show color a little more than rounds do. I woudln't go lower than H.

I'd go for the 1.5 G WF stone if it is really eyeclean. What kind of setting will you be getting? If the sides will be exposed, you need to ask if it is eyeclean from the sides, too. Otherwise I'd take the 1.3 stone.

You have a nice selection. They all have good ASETS so its all about size and how much you want to pay.

If your gf really wants a 1.5ct and you can afford it then I'd go for the 1.5ct. I looks like a very attractive stone but I would suggest you double check that its eye clean with wf though.

What about this True Hearts from JA (James Allen) compared to the WF ACA?? They say at WF that the diamond is eye clean and what they consider eye clean is from 8-10 inches with 20/20 vision looking at the diamond face up.

James Allen "True Hearts" 1.51ct VS1 I

Thanks for the help!!

I personally like the I VS1 because it's the biggest and most affordable for the size you want. JA also offers PS members a discount on top of the lower price! It's AGS graded which means it's cut really well and it faces up pretty white from the top (which is really the way she'd see it 90% of the time!). I'd put it on hold, request an aset and ask JA what kind of discount they're giving on this stone and ask the gemologist to confirm how white it looks in person.

Thanks everyone for the information! I went ahead and have put the WF ACA 1.508ct diamond on hold. I am having them double check that it's eye clean from the face up and the sides as well.

Thanks for pointing out the correct setting for the princess cut...I am not sure if I like the tiffany-style setting for the princess.I don't like the way the set wraps around each corner of the diamond. So I guess it's back to the drawing board on that :)

Trust me, you want princess corners protected. We have seen examples here of chipped corners! Remember the setting is tiny in real life compared to the magnified pictures online! That is actually a really great choice!

Here is WF response on the SI1 1.508ct Diamond:

The 1.508ct is eyeclean from the top from 8-10" with 20/20 vision, however, if you have really good vision you may be able to find something from the side view. There is a white crystal located in the table which can be found from the side, however, this is pretty typical for SI1's of this size. If you want something that is 100% clean from all angles I might suggest going with the 1.34ct we discussed yesterday instead.

Thoughts?? Should I go with the clean 1.34ct??

I didn't even think about protecting the corners but that does make sense. I may reconsider that setting after all :)

Well, a white crystal is not as objectionable to me as a black one is! Do you think she would be bothered if she could see an inclusion from the side? Or is she the type who'd probably never think about looking for inclusions? I'd always go with VS for my own stones, but eyeclean SI1 can be a good value. The problem is when you can't actually see the stone to know for sure whether it would bother you or not!

Honestly, we have looked at some crappy (i mean crappy I1 in house report) diamonds at some local B&M stores and she said "This one looks fine to me". So I don't think she would be able to tell. I agree not being able to see it in person does make a difference as to whether it would bother me or not.

I guess the good thing is they have a 30 day return policy, if I get it and it bothers me I can return the diamond.

Very true! I think I'd go for the 1.5 then!
