Finally got some pics! Thanks all for educating me on diamonds for the past few months. Traci picked me out a gorgeous stone. Just got the ring and am floored by how beautiful not only the diamond is but the setting! Great price and absolutely the best service I have had at any online retailer. Anyways, to get to what you all came here to see...

As I said the first time around, the Swan is one of my favourite solitaire settings, and was neck-and-neck for a long time with the setting I did end up choosing in the end.

Thanks for the side-shots, I have never seen it full on from the side before!

The ring is beautiful and is going to look wonderful on her hand - post pictures please! And please come back and update on what band she ends up getting to go with it....when I was deciding what ring to go with, I could never decide what band I would want with this one!

Thanks! Can I ask what setting you decided on and what band? I am having problems figuring out the band to go with it too. Vatche makes a plain metal band but the SO wants a more elaborate band than plain metal. Decisions, decisions....

You gals/guys make me want to call my SO and show it to her already =P I am so excited and I don''t want to tell anyone because I''m afraid she''ll eventually find out. It''s killing me so I had to at least post pics here and hear some responses. PS is such a great place!

Yes, I saw they have a plain band, curved to fit with the Swan. I remember a PS poster had one to go with theirs - you may find it with a search. It looked very good together, but is definitely a plain band. It does allow the main stone to really POP though! Do you know if she is set on her bands sitting flush together? If so, she will have to go with a curved band...I know Vatche has other curved bands with more "bling" but I do not know if they would fit with the Swan. I am sure you can get one custom made though too through one of the vendors who sells the Swan with pave or channel set diamonds. She can also get a straight, rather than curved, band with pave or channel or even prong set stones if she does not mind a gap (I personally don't mind a gap and would take a gap in order to have a straight band but some do and some like curved bands!).

She will have to just try a few different styles on and see what works for her.

I ended up going through Brian Gavin to have a custom/semi-custom setting made. I would have been just as happy with the Swan, but I ended up just going the route I did as what I really rather wanted for my bands (3/4 eternity scattered diamonds) won out over the profile of the Swan!
