We're not so different

Lovely article :)

That is beautiful. It is never wrong for family to be reunited again.

What really struck me about this is how this could be any of us.

In the first story, the father is a pharmacist. He is an educated person who had a good career back in Syria. He went to school, worked, probably had a house. His day to day was probably very similar to many of us. Juggling the stress that comes with twin daughters and an aging parent.

Then they have leave everything they worked for behind.

I can't imagine fleeing my home with 3 year old twins and an 80 year old parent.

You're right chemgirl.

We are all the same. Very touching story. My husband's family and to flee Armenia in the early 1900's - similar conditions. My heart goes out to these people and it's so right to help them.

Love this - it makes me so embarrassed to be a US citizen whenever someone here (particularly politicians) oppose immigrants. There but for the grace of God...
