Oh my, Dublin is about as far removed from Clare as you can get!!!

But that just means you''ll definitely have to make a second trip

On Dublin''s expensiveness, unfortunately every last rumour on the travel forums is true:

RIP for Rip Off Ireland?

Ireland Ranks Second in EU Costs List

Dublin falls in cost of living rankings - still 25th most expensive city in the world though (London is 16th)!
Oh dearie me!!

I''m already feeling the pain!

There goes my next piece of bling!

Yes, County Clare would have to wait until our next visit.

Thanks very much again. At least we''ll be prepared!

Did anyone mention The National Museum?? Here we are a jewelry site and no Tara Brooch?

Do NOT miss this!! Seeing the Tara Brooch alone is worth the price of admission. I could have stared at that thing for HOURS. The Ardagh Chalice wasn''t too shabby either.

Jealous. Burning. Jealous.

You''re going to have a great time!!

Fantastic city - I had the pleasure of visiting our Infinity dealer in Dublin in September.

I also recommend the Guinness tour (250th anniversary this year) and a pub crawl. Don''t miss Mulligan''s or the Temple Bar, and if you''re going to watch sports go to The Barge; though a bit off the beaten path.

The downtown areas are enjoyable and historic, and most of all I found the people to be very friendly and genuine.

I definitely echo those who urge you to explore.

I took this from the long pier at Dun Laoghaire - a beautiful village about 10km south of Dublin. It''s easily accessible by train...and there are some smashing fish & chips on the promenade near the pier!

I haven't been to Ireland even though I've lived in London all my life and I've travelled around Europe, the Carribean and the US.

I hope to make it there one day. Have a great trip
