My DBF is officially my Dear Fiance after a proposal Tuesday night on the waterfront overlooking the New York skyline. I previously posted the link to the JbEG pics and video of our ring http://jewelsbyericagrace.smugmug.c...ulia-Solitaire/12794843_ErGJ2#922309568_GEFoe and while Erica did a great job with the pictures and videos, nothing could have prepared me for how perfectly delicate the actual ring was. As Andy, my DF says, "it's pretty bad ass"
The ring is a modified version of JbEG's original Julia design - we just pared it down a little bit to match our lifestyles and personal style a little more. The basket is plain and everything, the shank, the band, the prongs, were scaled down to better match our stone per Erica's suggestion. The redesign really made the stone pop and brought out its natural beauty.
The band is 1.7mm and made of platinum. The prongs are as delicate as can be and frame our beautiful stone and actually enhances its beauty. The stone faces up very white, despite being graded a Q/R by David Atlas. The subtle scrolls underneath the basket are such a nice touch and add a romantic touch to the ring.
I don't know they did it, but JbEG was able to create a ring that makes my short, stubby fingers look impossibly thin and delicate. Andy & I can't say enough to praise Erica and JbEG for all their hard work, both in handholding as well as advice. After the CADs were approved, the ring was finished in 2 weeks - impossibly fast and Erica was AMAZING to work with. I can't tell you how many annoying questions and nervous comments I made communicating with Erica and she was just as chill as can be. We both felt reassured throughout the process because we knew and felt that Erica cared just as much, if not more, than we did about the outcome of the process.
So, thank you to Erica and JbEG - you have two very happy people who have taken their first step towards marriage with your help. You were wonderful. We can't wait to work with you on our wedding bands
.
Our camera cord is still missing, so we can't offer you any topnotch pictures, but here is a picture we took with my iPhone. Even with the less than ideal camera, the ring still looks fabulous. Can't wait to find our cord so we can do justice to JbEG's work.
