Ahhhh, thank you Kimberly, DiamondFan, Lisa, LindaW, Marcy, Jas, Mrs. Salvo, Monnie, SDL Michelle, Sparkles and Lorelei! You all are so sweet!
Hubby and I had a wonderful time, thanks! We arrived in Paris, went to a car show called the Retromobile (hubby said he always wanted to go to this so for his bday this year I said let's do it), we climbed to the top of Arc de Triomphe (thanks to Chargergrl's advice), did a lovely private bike tour of Paris, went on a day trip to Versailles, saw most of the main sites and museums to be seen and ate lots of delicious French food!
Then we went to Barcelona; I had never been to Barcelona and found it to be full of modern art and being mesmerized by the amazing Antonio Guadi Architecture! It is a wonderful city with lots to do and see. We also did a day trip to Montserrat (thanks to Sundials advice)! The 1st day we were there we walked down La Rambla which was nutty because it was the weekend and everyone was out walking about. Then we hopped on the Red Turista Bus (double decker) and saw the sites and then later visited many of them such as the Guell Park, La Pedrera, the Cathedral, Sagrada Familia, the Miro Museum, the Picasso Museum, walked through a beautiful park in Montujuic, did some hiking in Montserrat, and walked along the ocean. I did not get to see the Palau de Musica which I really wanted to see but they were sold out so next time that will be on the top of the list to see and do.
The highlights were the biking tour of Paris, the food, and hiking to top of the Arc de Triomphe (the views) and the day trip to Versailles (wish we had another day to ride bikes through the gardens and see more of the town), the bus tour of Barcelona, all of Gaudi's architecture (I felt like a sponge trying to soak it all in), and the day trip Montserrat, but it was all wonderful!
thank you!!! You will go; go when the dollar is stronger.Date: 3/2/2008 5:19:23 AM
