Weird symbol on my fiancees diamond

Hi all.

Nice to meet you, I'm new to this forum.

I got engaged recently with my now fiancee. I bought her an (in my opinion) nice diamond ring from a website where I could customize the ring to my liking.
The price was about the price you could get it in other places, but it had good reviews and an easy working system, so that's where I bought the ring.

It's a VVS1 color D emerald cut of about 1.51 carat. It is lab grown (conscious choice because we are also buying a house and getting married) and came with a certificate.

After a couple of months, we noticed a symbol on the diamond. It was only visible in certain angles in the correct lighting. Again, it's pretty hard to get it visible but when it becomes visible it's very noticeable. I'm adding a picture;

I've send a mail to the jeweler. He said it was some sort of a reflection of the base of the 'gold hooks'.
It took some time though for him to respond, and I can't find anything about this on google.

My question is: is this possible? Or should I be checking the validity of the diamond?
Thank you for your time!

Hello and welcome to PriceScope, AEG3N!

Interesting. Do you have the grading report number?

Can you show us the underside of the ring? It looks like it could be the basket or a donut underneath the stone. Is the stone very dirty and greasy? It looks like it. Can you clean it with a toothbrush and soap and take another pic?

At first it looked to me like a copyright symbol, but looking at an extreme close-up makes me think it's a G instead of a C, in a circle.

I also just noticed I made a mistake, it is a VVS2.
I can send you a picture of the certificate when needed.

Right now my fiancee is on a trip with her family. I will ask her to do that when she cans and post it here. Thank you for your messages.

There's definitely something off here after looking at that lab report. Give that stone a good scrubbing and take more pics when she gets a chance, because that picture and the report don't align with something actually being a part of the stone. Actually that report shows a stone that should look exceptional and exceptionally clean. So, I think the stone is dirty and greasy and maybe that's some sort of marking in the gunk, or the gunk is causing what's below the stone to show up like that.

We also see the rings when the diamond is cleaned. But I agree, we should have taken a better picture. It wasn't easy getting it on photo so when we did the stone indeed looks greasy. We'll try again tomorrow.

That circle is too perfect. I would hope you wouldn't be seeing the bottom of the setting. Definitely worth investigating.

Definitely some kind of environmental reflection because there's nothing out of the ordinary with the diamond, itself:
