CJ, student teaching has been both a exhausting and thrilling experience. I taught a math lesson while being observed by my site sup (the woman who grades me) and I totally fell apart. I had to have my cooperating teacher step in. I worked myself into a frenzy and then froze. It was a terrible experience, but she was very supportive and understanding and praised me for knowing when to ask for help (I asked my cooperating teacher to step in) I''m lucky she didn''t nail me. Aside from that experience it''s been great. I''m working 12-14 hour days between my seminar and planning/teaching which leaves me wiped, but I am so thrilled to be in the classroom and so enjoy what I''m doing that I''m actually okay with the busy-ness. The other day my cooperating teacher told me "Kimi, you''re a good teacher. Please remember that and take a deep breath, you''re too hard on yourself." It was nice to hear her say I''m doing well, because she''s there to teach me she spends a lot of time providing me with constructive criticism, which can just feel like criticism after a while. Thanks for listening to me ramble about this. It has consumed me for the last month and a half and I still have 7 weeks to go. I need to figure out what I''m going to do this summer as I graduate mid-June and I''ll be lost afterwards, having been so occupied with school and substituting for so long. I''m thinkng a couple part time jobs will fill my time until the school year resumes. Again, thanks for asking. So sweet of you. I''m looking forward to a walk in CP with you next time DH and I make it to NYC.Date: 4/10/2008 9:01:26 PM

Kimmie, how is the student teaching?!! I know you caught some bugs from the kiddies, but I hope you are feeling better. Are you enjoying the teaching?
Somethingshiny, the first time I ate an ice cream cone I was covered from head to toe and my sister wouldn''t walk with me, she was embarrassed. I think I''ve had 1 or 2 ice cream cones since. Your story is too sweet, thanks for sharing! Zoos are on of our favorite places. I always wonder if the animals think they''re observing us as much as we do them.Date: 4/10/2008 10:03:59 PM

Kimi~ I love zoos, too. Recently I had my first horrible zoo trip, but usually I could stay for hours upon hours. We go in every town we visit, too. The first zoo trip I had as a kid was when I turned 9. For my birthday we went to the Dallas Zoo. I got my ears pierced that day and had dripped on my favorite skirt, and then I spilled a chocolate ice cream cone on the shirt. But, I loved it!
