Hi, I''m a newlywed and new here! This August will be our 1 year anniversary. I can''t help but be disappointed in the way my wedding ring and ering look together. (ering is 1.10 rb in tiffany style setting and wedding ring is a BEAUTIFUL uprong eternity band totalling about 3 carats) Too big for my ering right? I told our jeweler that I didn''t want the band to overwhelm, but I think it has... any advice? I was thinking about resetting the ering into a three stone, I feel that my husband is sensitive about resetting in general. Thoughts?

Thanks

If your husband wouldn''t be a fan of resetting the e-ring AND you don''t think you can persuade a change of heart, then one solution might be to move your e-ring to your right hand.

Then it will stand alone and pop. Your 3-ct eternity band will more than hold its own on your wedding finger.

A 3-carat u-prong eternity band sounds absolutely gorgeous! I would wear it as a standalone band and buy a second eternity band (I''d probably go with 4 point stones) to wear with your e-ring. I have 6 point stones in mine and wish I''d gone smaller--I have a 1.55 carat center stone (though it''s an asscher) and think 4 or 5 pointers would have been a better choice.

I think your hubby needs to upgrade your diamond in your e-ring (but I wouldn''t do a three stone because that would probably look like too much with the band)! How many points are the stones in the eternity ring to give us an idea of the size? I was wearing 10 pointers with a 1.6 carat diamond and thought they took away from the diamond a bit. A 3 carat band is really big enough to wear alone. Of course, you could make the e-ring a three stone and wear it on the other hand, too.

So you think that I should wear my wedding ring and get a smaller eternity band for my ering on my left hand?

My stones are .16 each...

Can you post pictures of the combo?
Thanks

Both of your rings sound gorgeous (PICS PLEASE!

) but I completely understand the overpowering issue. I have a 1.68ctw eternity band (works out to about 7 pointers) and I feel it overpowers my tiffany solitaire. I just upgraded from a 1.59ct to a 1.82ct. and it''s still a bit much in my opinion for my ering stone size. I''m HOPING that when (...if...) I get up to the 2.25-2.5 ct. center stone I dream of that this eternity band will then be perfect. I do not have the sentimental issues that you have surrounding any of my rings. They are all the result of complete ring replacements last year when my original ering stone broke. But I understand you and your husband possibly having issues with changing things...I think the 3ct eternity band would make a FaBuLoUs stand alone ring. A smaller eternity band would look great with your ering. If it were me, I''d move the 3ct eternity to my right hand and wear the solitaire with a smaller band on my left. Then wear the 3ct eternity on my left hand when I didn''t want to wear the solitiare/band.

It sounds like it bothers you. Moving your ering to your right hand sounds like a good idea.

Ditto! After seeing the pics I think you are right and maybe the w-band takes away from the e-ring. I had the same problem with my half eternity band, so now I wear it on my right hand and got a different wedding band. If your fingers are different sizes then you may need to come up with another solution. Are your fingers on your hands similar in size?

I forgot to mention that my husband and I also have matching wedding bands but I''m not sure that I like that with my ering either, its brushed gold and looks a bit masculine, also looking a bit yellow.

I''m about a 4.75 on left and a 5 on right...its just enough to be a bit annoying. Also, when I first got my diamond wb it was a 5 and too big. The jeweler put beads on, but I still think it fits funny. It fits a bit more snug on my right hand.

Now that I see them, I''d wear that eternity band on your right hand and get a more petite wedding band that suits your lovely ering - if it were me. That bling would look great on your right hand.

I agree that the band that matches your husbands looks too masculine to be worn with your ering. Save that for those times you don''t want to wear your ering out of the house. I''ve got a matching band with my husband from when we married and I happen to like it with my ering that was purchased way after, but he does not like them together, so I never wear it that way. I put that ring on my right hand sometimes when I''m not wearing my eternity band on my right hand.

Your band and ering are both GORGEOUS!!!!!! Lucky LUCKY woman.

That eternity band would be FaBuLoUs as a stand alone ring. I''m a 4.75 on my left but couldn''t get them on my right had if I tried.....lucky for you you can!!!!

I agree with others that the solution to this problem is to wear the eternity band on your right hand (It fits, right?) And get a smaller eternity band to wear with your ering or at least a thin plain metal wedding band.

This gives you lots of options to work with.

The other thing you could do is ask hubby for an upgrade on your ering stone, but it doesn''t sound like he wants you to do that and it would probably have to be a huge stone to compete with the 3ct band.

I almost did the same thing by the way, when I was shopping for a wedding band I was in love with 2+ ct eternity bands. And of course the jewelers who were trying to sell to me were telling me how nice they looked with my 1.26 ct. stone. And I almost believed them because who wouldn''t want bigger diamonds? But I was forgetting that they are supposed to be a set and should compliment each other. I ended up get 4 pointers and think its perfect. The diamonds seem teensy on its own, but next to my ering they are perfect.

On either hand!

That ering could ride on either hand as well!

They are both gorgeous!

Thanks everybody! I just came back from a jewelry store, and I tried on some petite eternity bands with my ering and they looked really great. You guys are awesome!

Can you reccomend a website that I could go to to checkout rings besides blue nile?

your rings are lovely. since you have not been married a year i would just wear the e-ring on the right hand and the eternity band on the left. since you say your husband would be sensitive to change i would give it some time.

If you decide to wear it on your right hand (which I think you should b/c it would look awesome on its own and really offr a nice complement to you e-ring on your left) then maybe they can remove or shave down the sizing beads so it fits perfectly?

Show us pictures when you decide what you are doing!

The eternity ring should not stick out further on the sides than the e-ring. So be sure you get one that is set very low. I like the Facets rings, but I am not sure if there are any that are set low or not.

Your ering is beautiful, I looks huge, what size are the stones in your eternity band?

Hello again,

The ideas are still flowing over here. Is there a way that I could reset my 1.10 tiffany style solitaire to pop with the eternity band? If I did upgrade...how big should I go to wear it with the eternity band?
