Wedding eternity band recommendation

Hi lovely forum members :wavey:,

Looking for your inputs and recommendation for a wedding band that goes with my engagement ring.
ER is:
- 1.50 ct round solitaire on a tapered four prong band (widest point 2.9mm) 18K white gold
- Size 4.25 (loose in the cold winter here in Montreal Canada :confused2:)

What I have in mind is an eternity band in platinum that I can pair with the ER and wear alone.
Questions:
- Passed by Tiffany and tried on a few styles (half circle) but I am unsure whether to go with a slightly wider/higher ct band or the dainty little bands?
- Is platinum ok paired with the 18k wg ring? I researched online and wanted to choose platinum since it doesn't lose the color.
- Should I size up to 4.5 or size down to 4? I like my ring a little loose.

The below 3 Tiffany's look so thin alone by itself but in the pics they seem to be ok

- Can't seem to upload the picture but it's a Tiffany Embrace® band ring with a half circle of round brilliant diamonds in platinum. 2.2mm wide. CAD $5,300 - Maybe a full circle if decide to go with it ($8,650 CAD)

I LOVE the chevron band with your ring! If you go eternity get it half size to large as hands get bigger after pregnancy.
 
Thank you AprilBaby! I was hesitant because I haven’t seen many pics with a round solitaire paired with a chevron band and I don’t know if I should stay with the round band?
 
I also LOVE that chevron band with it! Very striking and gorgeous.
 
I like the straight dainty band above the chevron band. But more importantly you should figure out if spinning bothers you. If you get a half eternity and your band spins you will see metal for at least half the time. I always get full eternities. Other people absolutely do not want full for various reasons, ease of sizing being one of them. So everyone is different.

Thank you Kristin! That Tiffany band is super nice but it will set me back $3K CAD for 0.17 ct and it's a half eternity I'm not sure if it's worth it especially after educating myself on the PS site. Is there an online retailer where I can find a similar style but with a full band?

LLJsmom I think I will go for the full eternity band. As a first time wedding band buyer I don't know if it'll spin or not so I'd rather stay with the full eternity =)2
 
I also love the chevron “V” band. I’d also check around with James Allen, Whiteflash, IDJ, HPD and others to see what their chevron bands would be like. Have fun figuythis out.
 
@joie05 you have a gorgeous e-ring!

I have been lusting myself over the T&Co v band for a while now, but the price is the only thing that has been stopping me from purchasing it.

Pretty much any jeweler can get it and set stones.

I wouldn’t put plat next to wg. I had a ring that was WG and used to wear it with a plat band, the band really scratched up the e-ring setting and the color difference was something that I personally found annoying. On the contrary, I don’t mind mixing 14kt and 18kt wg. You might feel differently, but that’s my personal view.

Also, I think a similar to the T&Co harmony band will look lovely with your ring. There is one on JA that’s a very close copy and they currently have 30% off.

Ohh good point I didn't even think about the metal scratching each other was just worried about the color being off.

I really like the V ring with your ER but if you ever want to just wear your band it might look a little odd.

I didn't see this at Tiffany's. Might be an older model? The one I saw was thinner and more like a chevron than heart.

I did try without and it looks ok but I was worried about the spinning and Tiffany only makes that style in half eternity.

I really like the V shaped band too, it’s something different. I would never have a full eternity band, if you get the right size a half eternity doesn’t spin.

Why pay for diamonds you can’t see, plus I ruined a full eternity picking up my luggage :(2

I have the smaller carat weight floating band and I LOVE it! I had such a hard time finding something that went with my solitaire without overpowering it but was also substantial to look good on its own. I get so many compliments on this band!

Do you absolutely want your band to be from Tiffany? If not, there are any number of vendors where you can get much more for your money. I did a lot of online looking before I bought the 5 stone band I recently purchased (1.5 ctw F/VS2) and found a small vendor with great prices and great customer service who also does custom work, including a number of eternity rings. I had originally considered getting a larger one than I currently wear with my engagement ring, but ultimately decided on the 5 stone since I wanted to wear it in place of my engagement ring and eternity band for more everyday use and didn't want to have to be as careful about stones on the back of the band. I plan on going back to her again at some point for a custom peridot/diamond ring - my birthstone.

This looks so great together I love how it's low so it doesn't hit the prongs
I normally don't like that look but on you it's perfect :appl:
 
I love the chevron but agree it’s not classic.

Reminds me of a cvb design though
