Wedding Wedding Color Question

Hi Everyone!

Okay, so I''m really starting the planning here, making apts with halls, I have a rough draft of the guest list, and now.. I need to pick the colors. Alot of the banquet halls come with wedding planners to help out and they all want to know my colors and I''m still unsure

So.. I think I would like to do a sapphire blue, silver, and white. However, I''m confused. There is cobalt blue, royal blue, and sometimes I even see sapphire blue. What is the diffrence in these blues? It''s hard to tell over the internet as to which I prefer, or if they''re both the same!

Also, does anyone know where I can see some pictures of weddings done in this blue? I''ve looked at theknot and tried google and yahoo, but didn''t get too many useful ideas or pictures.

I would like the theme to be sparklie. Idk how to describe it, but not goody, just with a little shimmer.. if anyone has any ideas on center pieces that are inexpensive or that I could make myself to achieve a shimmery effect, do tell!!

Try brides.com, they have lots of pics and you can search by color. As far as the blues...hmm they all sound pretty similar to me. PotAto potahto...you''d probably want to see what you''re committing to just in case they''re way off!

For crystally, shimmery looks, what about a manzanita tree with crystals hanging? etherealdecor.com has a really good example! It''d be pretty cheap to make yourself. Or glittery silver ribbon wrapped around candles?

I know its kind of hard to see but its whitish river rocks in a vase with branches coming out. Some of the branches have beads or crystals or something on them. I saw an up close version in the actual magazine a while back.


ETA: As far as the blues go... the sapphire is probably very deep, the royal blue is brighter, and the cobalt blue is kind of inbetween those two.

I would say that the vibrant blue in my collage (no green tones) is the color I think of when I think cobalt. I''m guessing sapphire would be a bit darker than that.

Uh. Well...That wedding that was *planned* months ago has been dropped completely (around 50 guests, here in NM, the big ol'' whole nine yards wedding), and we''re planning on doing a really small wedding in Vegas with less than 20 people. So...I won''t really have any decor to worry about, instead it will be hotel rooms and a fabulous dinner. I''m not even planning on having a cake!

Here''s what it looks like in my head (the collage attached): the black dress would be my MOH''s, mine is the Matthew Christopher of my dreams, the shoes would be dyed the blue next to it, a possible invite, there is a suite''s bedroom at Mandalay Bay, the chapel at Mandalay Bay, and Aquaknox at the Venetian. So, still blue, just more subtle.

So, no worries! Wedding is still on, just changed a bit because I''m not going to worry about the decor as much.
