So yesterday we went to South Coast Plaza to look at plain plat. wedding bands for moi. I''ve decided I want a plain plat band to wear when I travel or am doing sports, gardening, etc. I just wanted to share what I learned.
1. Tiffany platinum wedding bands are basically the SAME exact price as those offered at Mall stores from brands like Benchmark or Lieberfarb. So I was thinking, "why not have the ''Tiffany experience'' if it''s the same price?!?
2. If you want mm widths in whole increments - like 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 - then Tiffany is for you. And again, it''s the same price as Benchmark so why not go for it?
3. If you want mm widths in half increments - like 2.5, 3.5, 4.5 - then you want to look at Cartier because they only carry plat bands in the half size width mm''s.
All in all, I liked the 2.5mm Cartier width and the 3.0mm Tiffany width. But the 2.5 Cartier is a bit more than the 3.0 Tiffany and the 3.0 looks better on my hand alone and looked great with my eternity band for travel (though the 2.5 looked okay but a tad too thin, and the 2.0 looked great with my eternity band but alone it was too thin).
Oh, we also went into VCA and I had a weird deja vu because they''ve re-designed their interior and it is exactly like the Las Vegas Graff salon. Isn''t that weird?
In fact, it was so exactly the same, I had to ask, "wait, I''m in VCA, right?" "Yes." "This is so weird but your interior is set up exactly the same way as the Graff Las Vegas salon..." "Oh. Really?" "Yeah." Hey, if they''re gonna copycat another boutique, I''m gonna call them on it...Anyway, I tried on a little Alhambra bracelet in WG with MOP clovers. It fit perfectly and was lovely. But it felt too "in" and not very unique anymore, alas. Plus the $2K pricetag didn''t wow me. I''d rather have another vintage eternity band for that money! But it was fun trying it on.
