Hello PSers,

So here is the dilemma (if I can even call it that)...I have a gorgeous stand alone eternity band as an e-ring from my fiance https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/engaged-with-wf-uternity.182893/. I had originally planned to get a 2mm plain band as a wedding band, think Jessica Simpson's or Jennifer Garner's eternity band & plain band combo. I went to the store to try on some plain wedding bands with it which was my original plan and guess what...I just like it by itself no matter what width or style of wedding band. My fiance also said that he just likes it on it's own. Also, any plain wedding band that I would get to go with my eternity would be so thin on my long fingers that I would never want to wear it alone, which I may want to do from time to time. What would you do in this situation? Would you get a stand alone wedding band and wear your rings on separate hands or just wear your wedding band when you wanted to wear a plain band? or would you still get the thin band and wear them together even if you didn't love the look. Or even *gasp* just wear the eternity band as both the e-ring and wedding ring? Please share your opinions...

I wouldn't wear a WB with your eternity ring if you didn't love them together. So I would either get a WB to wear on the other hand or...I would not get one and use your eternity as both and use that money saved to buy a different piece of bling you would love and enjoy more.

Wear whatever you want!! An eternity is a beautifully classic "married" look anyway, I think.

I'd get a plain band of some sort anyway though - for those gardening and spring cleaning sorts of days when you don't want to wear your diamonds. You could have him put both on your finger during the ceremony if you're sentimental and just wear the eternity most of the time..

I would get a nice practical band to wear on its own when I did not want or could not wear the eternity. Trust me, you will want to have a nice practical band in the future :)) If it was me I would get a 5mm heavy dome comfort fit in yellow or rose gold. Just as an example of what I consider to be a nice all-purpose practical band.

One of my friends selected a plain plat. band, aside from her eternity & e-ring, just for working out.
She was a very enthusiastic bride, and had all bases covered. At the time I thought she was excessive, but now I like the idea of a plain band for when you simply don't want to wear stones. No need to wear it on your right hand daily. It's there as a stand in for the eternity.
Not common on this board, but some never buy traditional e-rings, just have bands....or buy a more traditional e-ring much, much later.

Personally I would get a Cartier "Love" wedding band (there is a thinner and thicker one... one is 3mm and one is 4mm .. I could be a little bit off) and wear it together with your eternity band.

I would probably get it in the rose gold to mix it just because I think they make the prettiest rose gold EVER!

Do you have a store near you that you could go in and try one on?

If you don't like the look, just use your eternity band as both. It is gorgeous by itself!

+2!

I have a friend who hates rings. She is an artist and finds rings to be extremely uncomfortable. So she does have an ering but never wears it. Instead of a wedding band her FI got her a diamond bangle/ bracelet and she calls that her wedding band. I thought it was so sweet!

I like this idea, I already have times that I take my engagement ring off like when I go to yoga and snowboarding so I think a stand alone band is a practical idea.

I agree. I have a dream of a baguette eternity for my right hand...down the road of course. I think I am just going to get a practical band for the times I can't wear my diamonds.
