Hello All,

I am still on the search for a wedding band. My fiancee''s E-ring is a Tiffany style 4 prong, about 2.2mm wide. The diamond is a .78 round solitaire. How wide should the wedding band be to properly match with the e-ring?

Thanks,

W

depends on what you are looking for? are you going to pair it with a plain or diamond ring? anywhere between2- 2.5mm would work just fine

yeah, its going to be a diamond wedding band. Options so far are: Tiffany bezet band, half-channel set band, full channel set band, or a 9 stone shared prong band.

so anything above 2.5mm or under 2mm wouldnt look that great?

personally I don't mind a wedding band slightly thinner than my e-ring, and I actually don't mind wedding bands slightly wider than my e-ring IF it has diamonds, when there are more metals showing then the width of the wedding band if much wider than your ering becomes more apparent and starts to take away from the e-ring, this is just my personal opinion and my personal preference, but to be on the safer side, I would try on as many wedding bands with different width as possible. I have tried on the bezet ring, and absolutely love it with any solitaire

and the width of that ring seems perfect for a 2.2mm ering. I find that a difference of .5mm is very apparently to me when its a plain band, but when there are diamonds involved, it doesn't seem too noticeable.

I''m with D&T on this one as far as mms go. Have her try on a bunch and see waht she likes the best!

I love the bezet rings, personally!

Thanks for all your help so far. Couple more questions.

If i get a channel set band with diamonds all the way around, is it a problem to resize later on if necessary?

I found this, would it work?: http://www.thefacetscollection.com/item.cfm?item_id=1053
its 2.5mm wide, 1.5mm thick.

unfortunately, she is in a different country than me. As well, she wants it to be a surprise.

Thanks again,

W

you''re talking about an eternity band, and those have limited resizeability if any. Usually they are NOT resizeable, sometimes depending how much metal there is inside, your jewelry could maybe thin out and size up a fraction. So to be safe, you should get the exact size OR go 3/4 with a sizing bar. I don''t recommend guessing on size for an Eternity ring.

thanks. I know definately she is a size 5. Im just thinking in the future, when her finger grows, if we need to resize it. Facets collection seems to have the best price for the quality and they dont have any 3/4 channel set bands that are under 3mm

look here... http://www.whiteflash.com/wedding_bands/styles/diamond/honey-channel-set-diamond-wedding-band_1410.htm I used to have this one and the diamonds are quite sparkly. 3/4 and it is between 2-2.3mm I believe

ETA: her fingers might NOT grow in the future, I do have to say that I would buy the Facets as well, still thinking about it, I've been married for almost six years and two kids later, still the same size, so there is a possibility her fingers won't grow, but that is a risk on eternity rings

If you buy her an eternity band it can''t be sized. You can have it shaved on the inside to 1/4 most cases. I''d be safe and get one that is 3/4... That way you can size up or down depending..

I agree - 3/4 eternity is a much safer choice - but of course, I have some full eternities because I love them so do as I say, not as I do :)

if you decide to get an eternity I would size it .25 to big.

I love the facets band you posted, but I really really love the bezet.

too be safe, I would probably get a 1/2-3/4 eternity if you choose to go that route.

1/4 biggeer is not a bad idea. I have 3 eternities are true to size and my finger-size has not changed after 4 kids, but you would hate for the ring to not be wearable, and if an eternity spins a little it doesn''t matter (too big will stick out on the sides tho)

Thanks so far. I think im going to eliminate the full eternity from my list based on the fact its not resizeable....so down to 3 choices: tiffany bezet, that whiteflash honey channel set that was posted earlier (thanks!!) and the facets collection shared prong 9 stone: http://www.thefacetscollection.com/item.cfm?item_id=3663 im not sure how it will sit next to the e-ring though, and if the prongs on the shared prong band will rub against the e-ring.

Also, does anyone have anymore pics or info about the whiteflash honey channel set that goes 3/4 way around?

Thanks again everyone for your input. Sorry to ask so many questions and thanks for being patient with me :)

Hello again. I have narrowed down the choice between 2 bands. The Tiffany bezet diamond band (which i will get replicated by a jeweler) or the whiteflash honey 3/4 channel set band. The whiteflash band is 2mm wide, but if i get it, i may ask them to make mine a little wider, like 2.2 or 2.3mm. What do you think?

Thanks

W

I would not recommend you asking WF to make it wider as that could become custom and may cost more, besides that it probably won't make too much of a difference because the diamond strips makes that little difference not too noticeable imo. Attach are a couple of my ring pictures of the honey band that you are interested in and the bezet scattered like band by WF. Just to give you an idea to see if you like the strip of diamonds or the more subtle look of the bezet (the scattered ring here is WF 3mm) These are just my examples of the overall look that might be acheived

Thanks D&T. Do you have a bigger picture you can send me of the honey ring by any chance? Also, do you think 2mm will be too thin or ok?

Thanks!

W

OOOOOOH, the HONEY is Beautiful!!!. I would vote for that one.

Hi

I have it in this thread https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/wf-yellow-gold-honey-channel-set-band.127603/

you can also do a search on here for Honey band or honey, and you can find more threads of this ring by others. Personally, I think the band width was just perfect. The solitaire ring that is pictured above, is actually 2.3mm at the head of the diamond and tapers outwards to about 4mm on the bottom to give you an idea.

Thanks again for your help.

I contacted The Facets Collection, and they can make a channel set platinum band in size 5, with diamonds going around 3/4 the ring. Diamonds are f-g in colour, VVS-VS clarity, approx 0.38tcw. weight is 2.4 grams, 2.3mm wide, 1.5mm thick.

this will cost $764. as opposed to $995 for whiteflash. would this be ok? Im hesitant dealing with facets for some reason

Thanks

I would not hesitate to work with Facets. In fact, I had inquire about the same ring you are thinking about only an eternity and yellow gold a few weeks ago and would jump on it, just not sure what I want yet...lol

If you do a search on here for facets, there are plenty of people who have had good experience with them and their diamonds are what they say it is, so I would not worry one bit

Price is great imo.

Thanks again.

Just as an update. I got her e-ring done from another vendor. I e-mailed them to see if they could price a band similar to the one from facets. They said the quote seemed pretty low for a platinum band and they asked me to be careful with a less quality diamond melee (Premium/ideal cut) on the band when put next to the e-ring (BGD H&A).

Will this really be an issue? Thanks so much

W

If you are talking facets collection and .38 going 3/4 the way around I dont think you will be able to tell a big difference between her
e-ring and the wedding band. Stones are just too small to see any big difference (IMO).

Here is a picture (not a great one though) of a facets ring.... .81 ctw so about 16 pts each. It is the ring closer to my fingernail. The diamonds
were very sparkley.

EDIT - I have heard that Facets was bought out by someone but have not heard anything about the quality...whether it has stayed the
same or has changed.

Everyone who has bought from facets on PS has been very happy with the quality of the mellee. They are a company I would buy from without hesitations. They also have a 30 day refund period so you can compare the ring and if you do not like it send it back. Facets has always been *very* well priced from platinum.

I would get the facets 3/4 band. I much prefer it to the bezet.

Thanks. My concern is not in dealing with facets, but how the diamonds on the facets ring will look next to the solitaire on the e-ring. I dont think it would be a huge issue (as mentioned above)since the diamonds are so small on the band.

In my avatar picture, you can see a picture of the Tiffany Bezet wedding band. It is 2.6 mm and my ering seems to be about the same width - give or take a mm maybe.

From what I have read, PSers who know their stuff were very satisfied with the diamond quality.
