FI ordered my engagement ring/wedding band with my ring back in August. He proposed in September, but we just went today to pick it up. He was told to order it at the same time so they could make them fit each other. There was a lot of detailing that went into it, but if both rings were ordered at the same time, they would be made to fit flush. Well they don''t. He doesn''t think it is noticeable, but I am really bothered by it. I''ll try to get a picture. It''s like the wedding band is not level. I don''t know what to do. Is it really that big of a deal?

It''s clearly a big deal for you, as it would be for me! The rings were supposed to sit flush, and they don''t. I would contact the jeweler and see if there''s anything that can be done about it. Also, you might be better served by posting in RockyTalky or Show Me the Ring. Good luck!

Thanks, jstar. I posted here because I thought my feelings might be irrational and the ladies here would either set me straight or tell me my feelings were justified.

From the side.

Sorry this one is blurry, but you can tell it''s not flush. Am I being too critical?

If it bothers you, than you should get it fixed. It is clearly not flush

I would take them back, they are clearly not flush. Just a note, did your FI confirm that you can actually have a wband that is 100% flush with that setting? Some settings won''t allow a totally flush wband. Just wanted to confirm that your FI didn''t just ask for the matching band, that he clearly stated he wanted the band to sit flush. Maybe it''s just an error in communication.

Hopefully you can get it sorted ASAP. Keep us updated.

Nope, not irrational, it would drive me crazy, I mean, just utterly bananas. I would definitely post over in Rocky Talky and see if the pros there can help you.

Honestly, it looks pretty flush... Is it the basket of your setting that is preventing it from sitting flush? That''s what it looks like to me.

Honey- I tried on the set in the store and they sat flush. He ordered mine in my size, and the company that makes the setting said he needed to order the band and the engagement together so they would sit flush.

Neat- It looks like my basket is preventing the left side from sitting flush, as the right side is more flush. I''m not sure if the notch at the bottom isn''t big enough, or if maybe one of the rings isn''t even all the way around.

Thanks, ladies for your help! We plan on taking it back to the jeweler on Monday as we are going out of town tonight. Hopefully, this is will resolved. I am so glad we picked up my band 6 months before the wedding so this can be sorted out!

I think a lot of times vendors sells you these products hoping that you won''t notice it, or that you would think it too petty to complain about. I would be bothered by it and take it back.

Hmmm...well if it has a notch them it should sit flush! That wasn''t apparent in the pictures. And it being uneven would certainly bother me. I thought the band didn''t have a notch.

Sorry, it was hard to see in the pictures, but it definitely has a notch! That''s why I liked it so much is that it would sit flush. Hopefully the jeweler can help get this sorted out. I have 6 months before I can wear the rings together anyway

Great, it''s best to get it sorted now, that having to be without them after you are married.
