Hi everyone! I need some wedding band advice. lol

I have a beautiful Art Deco engagement ring. The center diamond appears to be an Old European cut and there are 5 smaller diamonds on each side. The sides step down from the center. ex. Center, 3 in a row, and 2 in a row, bead set.

I'm having trouble finding a new setting that works with it. Modern brilliants sparkle alot and compete with my old gem. Plain bands are barely noticeable. So I tried looking for an antique wedding band. I found and eternity band that's perfect except the designs in the platinum have been worn down.

Is it possible to remove old diamonds and place them in a new setting? I visited leon mege's site and his work looks great except that modern cuts don't work with my ring.

I keep trying to post a pic with no luck!!

You have to make sure the pic is less than 100 mb and that it''s not named the same thing as something else in PS. If you can''t get it to load the first time, I refresh the page and start over (kinda tedious but works for me.)

You can remove old diamonds and place them in a new setting. Some jewelers are hesistant to mess with antique settings though since they are so fragile unless you are okay with scrapping the antique setting altogether.

You can also go custom and ask a jeweler to source OEC or transitional materials for a 5 stone or the like. Not sure how pricey that is though.

Hope the photo thing works out for ya, it''d be helpful to see some pics of the e-ring.

You could consider having something custom made with either single cut or carre cut stones - they''re period-accurate, and should work well with a Deco design. I look forward to seeing pictures of your ring before making any more specific suggestions!
