I’ve whittled it down to the following two choices for a WB and would love to hear your thoughts on the following bands. If one is more practical for everyday wear, please chime in as I have never owned a micropave setting, nor have I worn an eternity band – let alone one with step cuts (i.e. is one more fragile or harder to keep clean, etc.)

Here’s the link to my e-ring:
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/yahoo-my-antique-re-cut-cushion-in-claw-prong-solitaire-has-landed.83571/

And the bands:
Left: Single Stone mini emerald cut eternity band in platinum
Right: Leon Mege r860 (but without milgrain)

Thanks all!

Oh my! I don''t know! They are both lovely! Although I am starting to lean towards the tiny EC band. I think it would complement the chunky facets of your cushion beautifully.

Yummm...how about both...

I honestly don''t think I could pick...have you tried on both styles?

Welllll, I'm gravitating towards the SS one, mostly because I love ECs and I like the outline of the bezels but I haven't tried it on yet. Patti can send me one for approval before I start the custom process - but I'm thinking I may just order it anyway and if it doesn't work with my ering, then I'll order the Leon because I know that style works with my ring when the proportions are right.

I think you have a plan! I love both, also lean toward the SS band, but definitely would want to try one on to get an idea first. Both bands are beautiful.

Sounds like a good plan!

Why am I not surprised that "both of the above" is the only acceptable alternative around here!

ETA: Oh, maybe that's just me thinking out loud. Ellen and ahappygirl advise to SS it first and Leon later, if necessary.

I LOVE that SS band, Pixley. I think it will look FAB with your e-ring....a nice contrast. Good luck deciding, and dont forget to post pics!!!

Thanks Dani.

They are also able to make it 3/4 eternity, which might be nice for the sake of resizing down the road. It might also mean that I wouldn''t have to worry about damaging stones on the palm side. Any thoughts on whether that would ruin the whole thing or make it a bit more practical for daily wear?

Hmmm....can they make it mostly eternity, but with a very small sizing area in the back? I am much more a fan of eternity bands rather than the 5 stone rings, etc.

I''m sure they could do that, but I think I''m less worried about sizing (as my ring size stayed the same pre and post child) and more worried about damaging the stones on the bottom. I should do a search to see what everyone''s experience has been with 3/4 vs the full monty...

Oh wow! What a problem to have, huh!? They are both beautiful and both compliment your ering perfectly. My first vote would be BOTH! That said, as much as I love everything Leon does, I would pick the Single Stone band. I''ve seen it in person and it is gorgeous! Ari is super nice and super easy to deal with. Everything that comes out of Single Stone is very high quality. And I''m with you on the partial eternity. While I LOVE the way eternity bands look, they are just not for me. I mangle the underside of my rings.

Ooooh, now I''m extra excited, since both you and surfgirl have seen these in person and still recommend. I notice most folks work with Ari instead of Patti. Should I be working with him or is it same-same?

If you can do it, why not get both?

If not, the Single Stone option would be my first choice. Get the pave one next year! I''ve seen Ari''s work at Lang Antiques in SF and it is really gorgeous, well turned out and delicate. You won''t regret it. Plus, he''s a sweetheart.

ooo, what a tough choice. I really do like both too. I agree with just trying out the SS one since you can return it if it doesn''t work. I think the Leon will work and look fabulous.

I can''t help you because they are both such beautiful choices. And for me not to have an opinion is RARE

Oooh, I think that the SS with your gorgeous e-ring would make a stunning pair

It''s the same. I think it''s just Patti and Ari in the LA boutique. Patti was very helpful when we were there. She''s very sweet. AND, more importantly, competent!

I think the eternity band would look nice but have one band on each side of the E-Ring.
I also like the other band....
My 2 cents.

Thanks for the additional feedback kimikocat, mrssalvo, MMMD, Diamond*Dana, Miranda and krisvrn - it''s reassured me that the SS band is the one for me (or at least the first one to go for
31.gif
).

Since they''ve noted that the band will be a limited production item, I''m going to start with the mini emerald cut band in 3/4 eternity and see how that works, and then do the Art of Platinum band later.

If anyone has a strong argument for going full eternity on the SS band, please speak up before Friday. My rationale for going 3/4 is mainly due to the fact that I talk with my hands a fair bit, drive, and do the general mom stuff and I''ve noticed a small bit of wear on the palm side of my ering. I want to enjoy the ring, most of all, and not fret about what''s going on with the band. I do like the look of full eternity, but don''t know how much wear and tear they''re able to take. I assume with EC''s the wear and tear would be rather obvious...

I''m with ya! I''m the same way.

Although.........I do have an eternity band coming in the next week

so I''ll tell ya how it goes.

Ooooh, exciting!!! Did you go full or 3/4?

Wellll, it''s a long story and I don''t want to jack your thread. I''m not sure if it''ll be full eternity or just almost. It''s another failed attemt by DH to surprise me. So I don''t really know. It''s a reset of earrings I never wear.

That''s exciting!!! What a sweet thing for your hubby to even attempt!

Can''t wait to see what he''s cooked up.

I''m anxious to see if you like the SS band with your ring -- I really love the Leon band too -- whatever works they are both beautiful!!

Good Luck!

He is a sweetie alright! Though this morning we started the day with an argument on gay marital rights and whether the local government should mandate pool fences on homes. Haha - two unrelated topics! LOL, we often start the morning off with political banter. *Psssst* sometimes I disagree just to get him all riled up!

OK, threadjack over!

How long will Ari take to make the ring?

Sometimes, it is entertaining isn't it? I do it too. Keeps them on their toes. BTW - my DH was looking over my shoulder as I was PSing yesterday and he said, "WOW - she has pretty hands - that ring must be 4 carats!" when he saw your avatar. You have such a gorgeous ring.

The ring should take about 4 weeks.

Can't wait!

lovewhitediamonds - Even if it doesn't go with my ring, I still love it and have been angling for it for a bit, so I'll find an excuse to waer it. Anything new in the works for you?

Pixley- do you mind sharing what the price quotes were for both rings? Just trying to get a general idea...

Since you picked that awesome cushion, I'm sure that your choice will be the right one.

HA HA! 4 carats! Don''t I wish! And, pretty hands? Have you had his eyes checked? Heehee. He''s a sweetie, too!

4 weeks!

I can''t wait either as that is one of my favorite bands! It will be gorgeous!
