Wearing gold and platinum rings together?

The forum descriptions said settings here, so hopefully this is in the right place. I'm having trouble finding an answer to this question, and I always see PriceScope recommended for jewelry questions, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

My engagement ring is platinum, but the wedding bands we're planning to get are gold. I know platinum can scratch gold, but will gold do any damage to platinum that can't be polished out? I was thinking about getting a thin gold spacer band to put between them so it would get scratched instead of the wedding ring. Would that work without damaging my engagement ring?

Hi there! I have worn my platinum spacer with platinum and gold rings and have not seen damage occur when mixing metals.

I wear my grand mothers stackable rings all the time . they must be over 70 years old two of them are white gold the third is platinum and I have never seen either have scratches.....Not to worry

I think it is fine, but can you not get yours in platinum? The different colors of the metals might bug me a little.

My engagement ring is 18kwg Vatche "Grace", and my band is a platinum channel set eternity band. I haven't noticed any excessive scratching on either ring, although the plating on my e-ring could use to be refreshed (I wear my rings constantly, live on a horse farm, have 4 kids and 3 dogs...they take a beating!).

Thanks everyone. This makes me feel better.

The engagement ring only comes in platinum, and I already have it, so there's not anything to be done about that. The wedding bands are half rose and half white gold though, so it's intentionally mismatched rather than being just a tiny bit annoyingly different.
