Awwwww! Alex is too cute. We had a kitty that looked very much like Alex. She was very pretty and everyone always commented on her "tuxedo" look.

She was very selective about who she liked, though. Our vet once commented that she was definitely in the Top 10 of ornery cats in his practice. Maybe #1.

Haha we call him The Norris a lot and tell him he's "silky smooth" and all the ladies love him..he walks around like he knows he's cool. But then you'll hear "No, you don't play dress up w/Chucknorris. No, Chucknorris does not need to eat the dog food, move the bowl. Don't squeeze Chucknorris, you'll ruffle him up."

thing - once upon a time I sent my DH a pic of Olivia and said 'get me that'. He wound up picking two (shorthaired and adorable but not the least bit sultry) kittens instead, but they were half off so we couldn't return them

missy - aww, thank you! It was a bit of luck! We actually left Petsmart to make sure there weren't any cats at the actual shelter that called to us, and another family got a call from the store saying he was still available. We figured if he was gone by the time we decided then it was fate, and wandered around a bit more, and finally decided that we did want him afterall! We'd *just* finished the paperwork when the other family came back and were apparently furious that he'd been sold, and demanded to talk to the supervisor..!

maplefemme - ohh I love his whiskers too!! Gretta had two white whiskers on the left side when she was little - I was so disappointed when they fell out and grew in black, I hope Alex's stay white!!

Oh iLander, I'm sorry! Everyone always says torties and females are stand-offish and sulky - they just haven't met Gretta! She can sit on your lap and purr for *hours*, and she grooms DH's scruff

Gypsy - aww thank you! He gets along with all three of them just fine - it's them that are the problems! I'm really, really hoping Mina adjusts okay, she eats when she's stressed and she's started gaining weight already - we've got eyes in the backs of our heads on her


Blue - he *is* pretty - when he stands still long enough to see all his markings! Definitely not ornery I like ornery cats too, though, especially when they like me especially

Oh my goodness! What a beautiful little bug I just love him! We just got a cat in November, and he'll be one year old this month, he's our first pet as a couple and I just love seeing how DH really has taken to him. They are buddies

Nope, not one bit of luck! Something about resale value of the house, or some silliness along those lines. I say what's resale value compared to a cat's dream home! Very nice unintended benefit if Mina is indeed mouse-hunting!

Um..I'm a crazy namer? Britta Rose was just a pretty little girls name I'd heard. Chucknorris I stole from a coworker who used it first. Opilio Jo, if you ever watch Deadliest Catch, there is a type of crap called Opilio and I just thought that was a neat word and I liked to say it. JD had a fit "name the cat after a CRAB?" until I told him he could call her Opie.

If I name an animal, chances are it's going to have an odd name...tho I consider my naming skills to be borne of much time and thought/effort and a skill I've honed to perfection.. My dad had a conniption when I lived at home and my cat Bejing (she was a weird beige color-get it?) had kittens and I named them Nefertiti and Archimedes. He's of the Fluffy, Sugar, Blackie naming school. The ONLY name he's ever liked is the puppy Swede-b/c that's his nickname and we're Swedish.
