Finally engaged after almost 3 years of dating! Sooo happy...and I LOVE my ring!! Thanks to those here who helped with the search. I chose the center diamond and my now fiance designed the setting...after I gave some subtle hints

Question...do you think it's dangerous that the bottom of the diamond (cutlet maybe?) is exposed? I think the jeweler didn't put any kind of a basket because I told my fiance I wanted to wear a wedding band next to it. Do I need to get something added to protect the diamond? And if I did, would I then not be able to wear a band without having a big gap?

I greatly appreciate the hand comment canuk-gal! I was actually in a bad accident many years ago where all the skin on my left hand was burned very badly so I am always self conscious of the wrinkly skin!

I don't know what wrinkly skin you're talking about - you have beautiful hands.

As for the open culet, it depends whether the wedding band hits it. It doesn't look like it would/should. There's a Henri Daussi setting very similar to the design you have. I was going to ask you whether it was a Daussi. I love the fact you can flush pair a wedding band.

Oh, and yes, we will definitely need a boat load of pictures! It looks HUGE on your fingers. I can't believe it's only 2.26.

Although I need to take the ring back to the jeweler because as you may see from the close up picture, there is a slight gap between one of the prongs and a stone in the halo (looks like a tiny black spot in the lower left corner). Has anyone else experienced this problem with a halo ring? Am I being too picky?

No you are not being picky!

I just sent my ring in for some modifications as well. One of my modifications is (amongst other things) is that the prongs on one side are higher than the other (from the profile)! So if you're picky, then I must be uber-picky. Therefore, the only alternative is to say you're not picky at all!
