Thank you for the kind comments everyone!!
Dreamer - I am a lab rat in cell and molecular biology. I just passed into Ph.D. candidacy so now I just have to plow through to finish my dissertation - hopefully in a few more years
Maybe! Or a pharmacology thing... I`m in the arts so its mostly Birkenstocks and grey streaked hair around these partsDate: 2/3/2010 5:28:42 PM

Thanks again everyone!! It IS strange to experience DSS. When I started wearing my ring when I got engaged, the stone seemed huge, almost to the point of making me uncomfortable! Now it''s not that it necessarily looks small - it just doesn''t look as big as it used to! I love it more than anything and even my FI says it looks great on my hand
Dreamer - Congrats on finishing your PhD! As someone who is in the mines, I am in awe of people who get through it in one piece!
I do wear my ring in the lab. When my PI (who is incredibly blunt about everything) saw it, she exclaimed, ''that is huge! your fiance must make a lot of money!!''. She always says whatever is on her mind so it wasn''t shocking to me! I am also a teaching assistant some semesters and I am always surprised when students comment (even the male students chime in)! It''s interesting though, some of the female profs in our pharmacology department rock pretty gorgeous bling! Maybe it''s a Texas thing!
That''s probably good - I think something any bigger would make your finger hurt!!!!Date: 2/4/2010 12:27:11 PM

Wow, thank you so much everyone!! I think my DSS has been squashed for now!
Now I am on the prowl for a wedding band...
