Lyra,
When I saw it, I knew it was what I wanted. I hope I''m not being a bad influence on you.

Sundial,
Thanks!
Heh heh. PS itself is a bad influence on me, but really I''ve always been sparklies obsessed!

However, I''ve never been watch obsessed before, and now I am...

I am not to blame.

What type of watch would you like?

Your new watch is beautiful!

Thanks! You mean my new bracelet? The "watch" doesn''t actually tell the time.

It''s beautiful anyway. At least you get a rough idea of the time.

No, PS is to blame.

Actually, DH collects watches too and is always talking about them.

I''m currently stuck on a pink MOP face obsession. I actually ordered a really cheap mechanical movement watch from amazon this weekend to see how I actually like pink MOP, and the movement part. The watches I''m debating are the Tag Heuer Aquaracer with diamonds, and the Omega Constellation with pink MOP face. The only thing with the pink Omega is that it doesn''t come in double eagle style (full gold bars), which would match one of my DH''s watches. The Tag just looks like a feminine everyday watch, and it''s quartz. The Omegas, one is quartz, one can be movement. So I don''t know. I think I''ll enjoy trying out "looks" first. I''m leaning more towards the Tag right now. It looks girly to me, but sturdy.

Lyra I think both of those watches would be beautiful with a pink mother of pearl face. Tough decision. I think you are wise to try out a cheaper watch first to make sure that you actually like the look. I am personally a fan of mechanical watches and I am in a pink phase myself (although not mother of pearl). I received a stainless steel Rolex for Christmas with a pink dial and I have been impressed with how well it goes with just about everything.

I''m glad to hear you find that pink can be a neutral of sorts. That''s one of my concerns. I wear a lot of black, grey and green, even though pink is my favourite colour! I do prefer a stainless band too, but the one I ordered is pink leather. Generally I don''t like leather because I like my watches to fit looser. I have a blue/grey MOP face on one of my eco-drive Citizens, and it is hard to read sometimes. I like to have watches that don''t require batteries or replacing batteries (eco-drive). I''m trying to go green. Yeah, that''s right, I need a really expensive watch in order to be more environmentally conscious.

Here''a a look at my Omega mini. I went from a Rolex to the Omega and I''m very please with the sleek look. It also is more complementary to my rings.

Close up of the watch...It has the diamond bezel and MOP face. I really like the matte bracelet.

Oooh! The Omega is gorgeous! I''m torn!

The other issue I have with watches is I like as slim or sleek a bezel and band as possible. I know the Omegas are perfect in that regard. Then on the other hand, I thought, maybe I should try something bigger and clunkier and just rock that style.

I think it''s boiling down to me just wanting to have more watches. I used to have tons of different inexpensive watches when I was younger. Now I like some of the more expensive ones, and it''s just not practical to have a "collection" of those.

sigh. It sure is nice to see watch eye candy though.

Dear Harriet:

Sorry for hijacking your thread. I couldn''t help myself.

No problem. Go ahead.

Lyra we are happy to enable you on purchasing a watch - you don''t need an excuse! I understand what you are saying though. You can either have a big collection of inexpensive watches or just one or two high quality ones. The higher prices make it harder to choose just the right watch.

Risingsun your Omega is just gorgeous and it looks fantastic with your lovely rings!!! I wouldn''t mind one of those watches too!

Thanks Lyra and Sundial! I loved my Rolex for many years, but wanted something different. I looked at Tags, B & M and considered a Cartier. This one just had my name on it. Now I have a choice of watches, which is a good thing

Another "problem" I''m facing is the more I talk about watches, the more my *DH* obsesses further about watches for himself. Then it becomes a requirement for both of us to have new expensive watches! That definitely isn''t practical, and, ahem, it reduces my chances of getting the nice watch by half! I''m so greedy!!!

On the other hand, I suppose the more interest I show in his choices, the more interest he''ll show in mine, since he is the one who would do the buying anyway. Choices, choices.

Just come back and post pictures of whatever you choose!

I love that watch...If only

I like mine, but would love that one :)
