Warped the peg head of my Ering out of centre how to repair?

My ring got caught in the safety belt of my car. Didn't notice and tore it away. This resulted in a completely bent head.

Back story, feel free to skip:
Ring bought pre PS, but felt we did pretty well. I've always loved the design. DH put a lot of thought into this ring and I love all the details (reverse tapered shank, way the sidestones are set, centre to sidestone ratio) BUT the peg head and prongs.

DH is extremely attached to my ring. Upgrades are unheard of in my neck of the world and when I explained the concept and possibility to upgrade my centre stone (found out we have an excellent upgrade policy) to DH he preferred to buy a bigger rhr instead.

I am not in the US, so sending to a PS jeweller is a HUGE HASSLE.
So my questions are:

-would you trust a decent local jeweller to just get it back straight again?

- can one switch out the head to pur in a nicer basket instead of that horrible peg head?

Ring is in pt 950,
Gia 1.1 ct g vvs1 oval, 0.25/ cttw pear sides.

A good benchman could handle that repair with no problems.
Either repairing or replacing the head.
Putting heads on is something they do all the time.
If it is under warranty the place you bought it will most likely insist on doing the work or void the warranty.

Can you post a picture of the side where the center has bent away (so a picture to show the gallery detail without the bent head in the way)? Or, if you have any sideview pre-bending. Depending on that, there may be a few ways to add some subtle cross stabilization to the heads.

Just to be thorough and I did read DH was not ok with a reset...Maybe he'd be open to a different three-stone head design if you a) want one and b) couch it as a stability/safety issue. The styles below may not float your boat, but they all include metal that joins the three heads for stability.

Agree with Karl.

It's a lovely jewel, I think repair is in order!

Gah the seatbelt, I've lost and broken jewelry on them too.

Thanks @Karl_K , I'm more confident to try a local bench now.

Thanks foebthw lovely design ideas, @rockysalamander. I'll see how much they quote for a normal repair and we'll see from there how we'll proceed.

Thank you @azstonie !!!

It's my second victim of constantly buckling/ unbuckling the kids.
The next ring is bezeled!!

So ok you’ve gotten good advise that’s easy to fix

I might reset it to avoid that happening again

Also your ring is gorgeous! But girl you’ve got to clean her!
