I''ve really been drooling over some of the rose gold and warm diamond combos I''ve been seeing lately on PS. My Ering is a lovely Ideal cut F round WG solitaire, and I thought it''d be fun to get the exact opposite kind of diamond for a RHR. A warm diamond in a fancy shape, rose gold, and 3 stone.

Do you think this M color cushion would look good in rose gold? Too warm? Not warm enough?

What color side stones would you recommend to further play up the warmth of the ring? I''m afraid pink might be too "girly", but light green may seem too "Easter" like...

Opinions?

What a great project! Have you checked out Shimmer''s J in a rose gold bezel? It''s TDF. https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/rings-including-new-gog-omc-gog-transitional-and-others.122933/

Or how about Queen Mum''s M set in RG? https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/i-love-my-pink-grace-ring.137719/.

I''m guessing that cushion will show much more warmth than an ideal cut RB and I think it would look great in RG! I might choose colorless sidestones to provide contrast to the M. I''d be afraid that the color would get drowned out if you tried to put other colored stones next to it. But I tend to err on the conservative side and would love to hear other opinions.

Wow, I didn''t realize QueenM''s stone is M! That''s pretty crazy. I''m really hoping to get one that shows it''s warmth a bit more though, hehe.

That''s a lovely color MrsM! I could probably get zircon in that color...

I was considering a pastel pink color, or be daring and try something like rose quartz or faceted opal.

I think rose gold is SO lovely - and especially with warm diamonds, or more earthy or pink gems. I debated it for a while with my sapphire ring....but ended up sticking to the white gold (living on the edge....ha).

I think you could go lower than an M even.

I agree with the suggestions of some coppery-brown-orange or champagne sides...a nice brownish or light pink would look lovely as well....

Whatever you go for...it will be lovely!

I wouldn''t mind going lower than an M either, but cushions that warm are hard to find!

So far my favorite thing about warm diamonds is the price-tag. I can''t believe how much cheaper these are compared to my F, VS diamond!

I love that stone and all the fire that shoots out! Hope you finish the project soon so we can all drool over it!

The jewelry design Alex Sepkus uses some great combinations of colors in his work that would flatter an M or lower color diamond.

MTG-Here is my N colored cushion set in RG with F colored sides.

I think pink sides would be lovley! Something that gives nice contrast.

It''s beautiful stepcutnut! Do you mind my asking how large that center stone is? And was it difficult to source?

Ok, so I was actually dreaming about this ring last night I shouldn''t browse PS before bedtime, clearly.

I was thinking that it would look good with pink sidestones, so long as the pink had warmer brown tones rather than purple tones.

Stepcutnut, your ring is incredible!

haha, clearly...

I rigged up a mock up with pink sides, but I think it looks a little too girly...

I really like that actually. The fairly simple and angular structure doesn't scream girly to me.

It does show that the pink gold is very nice with that stone.

Since you're a photoshop whizz, humour me and see how it looks with blue sapphire sides, if you have time.

If you want to bring out and highlight the colour in a stone in that range IMO nothing does it like some nice white side stone.

I think warm diamonds look lovely in rose gold :)

Thanks MTG! The cushion was sourced by David at Diamonds by Lauren, he seems to find some lovely warmer colored cushion quit often and he is great to work with. The center is 2.27ct and the sides are 1.14ctw

I think pinks would be really lovely!

OK, I''m blushing....
Thank you so much Stepcutnut!!!

Makingthegrade- man do I miss that ring- Pink baguettes are impossible to find!

To address the original question: We''ve found that pink gold is a wildcard on the warmer colors.
We''ve had a few warmer colors that had brown in them.
In a few cases, setting these into pink gold resulted in the center really taking on a pink tint.
In the other cases I still liked the results- but there was not a noticeable pink tint in the center.

In terms of side diamonds, I agree with 4ever. High white side diamonds will definitely emphasize the warmer colored center.

A different vote here I''m afraid and it''s a "no"!

There are M colour diamonds and M colour diamonds! The one you posted (in your first post) is a very gorgeous warm buttery yellow. I wouldn''t detract from its loveliness. I would use yellow gold. Interestingly StepCutNut''s ring almost looks yellow gold and I was surprised when she said it''s rose gold. I suspect it''s a very very subtle rose gold as I know that David combines and contrasts exceptionally well.

If a diamond starts moving away from yellow and more to brown I think the rose gold would look good but, this is a personal opinion, warm yellows look great with yellow gold.
