Somewhere on here I read to open the photo in "Paint" or an equivalent, and "Stretch/Skew" the image down by whatever percentage necessary to make it about 5x7 size (or smaller) on your screen. Hope this helps, I''ve done it for my pictures and haven''t had a problem.
I haven''t seen the GIA cert but my FI said it was F SI1 and I''m guessing it''s about 1.60 or 1.65 b/c I know it''s 7.5 x 7.5 and ideal cut. My ring size is 7
Ok! I will try to be specific, for the sake of clarity (not trying to offend!)
If you open the photo and it fits within the Paint window (you can see the whole photo without scrolling):
Try cropping around the specific part you''d like to showcase (i.e., we''ve seen the handshot, lets zoom in on the ring!
) by selecting the crop tool (dotted line rectangle) from the Tool Box on the left. Click and drag around the area you want to crop. The area you selected will have a dotted line around it.
Select "Edit" and then "Copy".
Select "File" and then "New". You may get a pop-up asking if you want to save changes to the file, click "No".
When the new file opens, select "Edit" and "Paste". If you click in the picture, I found that it made the screen go white... just click outside of the picture and your image will come back.
Now, you can Stretch/Skew until the photo is small enough (at this point it shouldn''t need much reduction)
If you open the phot and it does NOT fit in the Paint window (you have scroll bars on the bottom and side):
Use the scroll bars to find the part of the image you want to capture. The Select the crop tool and continue with the directions above.
If the ring itself is *still* too big to see it all at once, you will have to Stetch/Skew first (just a little, maybe 90%), then continue on as above.
I think it is fay cullen but I only know that b/c I typed a description of it into google after we found the setting in a pawn shop and then a setting Mara posted a few years ago came up, so I asked her about it and she said it was Fay Cullen (that''s actually how I found PS!).
