VSB diamond with Halo

Hi all,
If I’m putting a VSB diamond in a halo are there any considerations that need to be made for the melee? Should they all have floursescence? All have no fluorescence? Or does it not matter? Mostly concerned about direct sunlight with the center stone giving off a bluish tint while the melee doesn’t

Thanks!

Others will likely chime in, but I think it’d actually look pretty cool to have the central diamond give off a blue-ish tint in the sun surrounded by bright, white, non-FL diamonds, so that’s what I’d do/go with.

My guess though is if the melee is small enough, any ‘color’ difference as a result of the SBF may not even be noticeable because of the sparkle factor. I’d love to see (in person) how a SBF looks in direct sunlight so I can appreciate the visual with my own eyes vs. videos/pics.

I live at 45• north latitude with a VSBF stone and, in the eight years I have had this stone, only ONE day and only around noon for one hour in mid October did I EVER notice my stone appear the slightest bit lavender.

Every other place, time, situation, it looks clear. (With the exception of curing gel nails cure uv light - then it's a bright blue blob!!)

Nearly all of the melee on my rings has fluorescent diamonds here and there. You may be able to specify non fluorescent stones. Personally I think it's very cool to see the different shades of blue in the melee.

Thanks guys. Awesome info as always!

IMO, no. I don't think you can see the difference.

No I don’t notice at all with my strong blue and side stones that aren’t. . I love my fluorescence soooo much it’s wrong. I missed a whole ride at Disney trying to look at my ring under the lights lol.

Cool topic!

We don't check the small stones we use for FL- in general, I'd say it's common not to check.
Most manufacturers are more interested in quality, and specific sizes of melee diamonds.
It is pretty cool hitting a ring with the UV light and seeing a few little guys screaming BLUE BLUE BLUE
