got there at 6am when the polls opened. 35min wait.
The line when I left was longer than when I got there.
It is totally nuts they have 2 wards voting in one place instead of separate polling places like in the past.
The voting machine went down twice this morning already!

Talking to people it was split about 50-50 Dem/Rep one ward goes mostly dem and the other mostly republican.
I hope the concealed carry referendum passes!!!

A friend in KC said her line was nuts. SO in VA has been waiting over an hour already, still waiting. He got there at 6:55am. Yay for voting! How exciting!

I just voted here in Baton Rouge and it took me 35 minutes....not too bad

- But the line was getting longer when I left!

I VOTED!!!

Our polls opened at 7:00 a.m., and they close at 8:00 p.m. I got there around 7:30 a.m. and the wait was very short. There were only two or three people ahead of me, but the line was growing, and there were about ten people in line by the time I left. Remember, I live in a small town, and my polling place serves only a small portion of that small town, so the turnout from what I saw this morning was actually pretty good!

My fiance is walking back from the polls right now...he got there at 6 am and it took him 2 hours and 20 minutes!

I had about a ten second wait.

There was one woman ahead of me in my line. There were two people at each table looking up addresses and checking ids. There were four tables divided alphabetically by street. Another woman explained the ballot for the new optical scan voting.

Overall, I would say there were probably 80 people there when I voted at 8:30 am, but the polling place was organized very efficiently. Small town America! Yay.

SO is still in line in VA. He has been since 6:55am. It is currently 9:45am and counting. He has lost his sense of excitement, and is now grumpy and pissy.

We got there about 15 min. before they opened, only 4 people in fromt of us. But there were more there by the time we got in than I''ve ever seen before. However, they combined our precinct with another one also.

45 minutes

I voted first thing this morning, and only had a two minute wait.

Last presidential election I went after work/school, and waited an hour an half! But so far, so good over here...

Voted in Philadelphia suburbs where the polls opened at 7am. I went about 8:15am and had about a 20 minute wait. Lines were getting longer though by the time I left.

I live in a very small town <5000 and we have three separate voting locations. Mine has two precincts and I waited about 15 minutes in my line at 8:30am.
That my friends, is unprecedented.

SO''s official time was 3 hours, 5 minutes. He''s in a better mood now that it is over with.

My polling place is always empty around 9am, I just go in and out. This time I had to wait 20 minutes. Not bad but unusual for me.

I voted in Mass, took a little over an hour but there was nearly no line when I was done. The system is seriously flawed though, the wait was unnecessary and the secrecy of our ballots was compromised. Also they passed a law YESTERDAY that impacts people's precincts TODAY and is messing up local ballots and generally causing anger.

The line was bonkers and wrapped around the block. Definitely a two hour wait. Lucky for us, we got to by pass the big line because our district is so small and has their own booth at the same place.

I did my civic duty and voted, then went to Starbucks for my free cup of coffee.

WOOT!!!! I''m so excited I could burst!

I voted in DC. My polling location isn''t huge, so there weren''t a ton of people to be accommodated. In any event, I got there at 9.15 am and was out by 9.45. I had a choice of paper or touchscreen, and I voted touchscreen, which required a 10-minute longer wait than had I completed a paper ballot.

I hope he stayed in line!

I hope he does too. A woman walked up next to me at our voting booth, saw the line and said "Well, I guess I''m not voting." I thought that was SO sad! No matter who you are voting for in this election it''s historic and I''d hate not to be able to tell my kids or grandkids that I voted and made a difference in this election!

I'm still registered in MO so I haven't been in a voting booth in a decade (actually, I've never been in one), but many of my coworkers are just now getting into work after waiting 2.5 - 3 hours. We live just outside of the city and DH's waiting time was only 5 minutes. I wonder how many will not vote because they can't stay in line for 2+ hours...it's supposed to be worse after work.

I''m in Indianapolis, IN and polls are open from 6am-6pm.

I got there around 7:30 and had NO WAIT whatsoever. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Some friends that did early voting this weekend waited in a 6 hour line to vote, I''m glad I did it this morning!!

We got there about 20 minutes before the polls opened, and once inside it took maybe 20 minutes. There were probably about 50 people ahead of us in line.

What depressed me though, is that as we were leaving the line was no more. Granted, our polling area was very small (just our development, which surprised me), but there are obviously more than 50 people living there. Maybe people know there won''t be a line and going to come after work instead. I think I might drive by a couple of times through the day to see.

my precinct is pretty tiny, and i just moved here so i''m not sure what is normal, but i waited about 10 minutes-ish?

My DH said he only waited for 15-20 minutes. Our polling place is a well oiled machine though, so I am not surprised.

I didn''t wait at all! No line for my precinct. I went at 10:30

I waited for less than 10 minutes once I got there! My fiance should have gone in later, but he was too excited, I think!

Polls opened at 7, I got there at 7:05. (I love living across the street!). ~45 minute wait, including voting time.

Not sure if the "no electioneering within 100 feet" applies to just the front door of the polling place or the whole building. I think its within the door, because someone with a "No on 8" sign was just outside of that radius. Two girls (women? could have been late teenage or early 20s) ran by carrying a "Yes on 8" sign - clearly in violation of the 100 ft rule, but no police around to enforce it.

I live in a L.A-area ''burb. DH and I arrived at 6:30a and i was the 3rd person in line, but the first to actually vote as the 2 folks in front of me has issues with their names not appearing on the lists (there''s a TON of precincts in L.A, so it can get confusing).

I was prepared and had my sample ballot all marked up, so i was out the door at 7:02a.

I live in a suburb of Atlanta, GA and it took me 32 minutes from finding a parking space to getting my special "Georgia Peach" sticker
1.gif

We had early voting in Georgia the last few weeks and last week there were insane wait times of up to 6 hours in some locations, so I''m pleased with such a short wait!

I had about a 1/2 hour wait. But we vote at a retirement home and many of the people voting were in wheel chairs, so took longer than usual. I was so happy to see them vote!!!
