Hi! I was gifted an heirloom diamond by my mom. It is a 9 ct round and when she gifted it to me she mentioned that there is a visible feather on the edge and I should reset it to hide it. I love the diamond because of the sentimental value more than anything else but it is beautiful. Mom recently passed away and I am honoring her wish to reset it. I picked a beautiful Simon G bezel setting that will help hide inclusions by the girdle and also "protect" the diamond IMO. My question is when the diamond is set in the round bezel, is there a "best spot" to place whatever white feather inclusion on the edge of the diamond that is still visible? Like should it be at 3 o'clock vs 6' o'clock or it doesn't matter? I just wonder if any of the experts here think your eye goes to the top or side of a large diamond like this when it's set in a ring. I hope I'm making sense, lol It was set in a classic 6-prong tiffany-like setting and the feather was at 3 o'clock (or 9 o'clock if i wore it the other way). Thanks in advance!
