Thank you for the info!@Wewechew and @KristinTech I wanted to update this thread to tell you what I found out about CBI.
In terms of CBI, Melissa was incredibly helpful and nice. She explained that cutting to order is very difficult in lower colors (lower than K), because the grades are much "wider" than the higher colors, and because the rough is less predictable in terms of how it will come out. Also, they hardly ever get requests for anything lower than K, since the "norm" is colorless or near-colorless stones. therefore, it wouldn't really be worth it to cut a .9 or a 1ct warmer stone. Obviously this might be different if I was looking for something huge, in which case the $ might mitigate some of this. I think they also stopped stocking the lower colors for a similar reason--less demand and harder to predict/grade since the continuum is bigger.
