Vintage ring...any idea what kind of cut this is? Fishtail prong

Thank you so much for the reply, I will be taking it to a jeweler when I have time it’s tough because I have to go during the week when the jeweler is there and I work a lot.

Hi Kacyling!
Your center stone looks like an Early Modern Brilliant stone. It is not Old European Cut or Transitional. The ring setting is likely from the the 1930s or 1940s. I’ll attach photos of my own ring which is from the 1930s/1940s below. My diamond and your diamond are similar. Early Modern Brilliant diamond cut style is characterized by a large table, small crown angle, shallower depth. This economized on the carat weight and spread the weight out horizontally, to the edges, making for wider diameter stones in relation to carat weight. Your side stones also look like Early Modern Round Brilliants, not single cuts. The head of your ring is a type of illusion setting that visually widens the appearance of the diameter as well. I can’t tell if the stone really is original to the ring because there is a tiny almost imperceptible airline between the stone and the setting that could mean the original diamond was switched out. But the current style looks EMRB to me.
