Vinegar to clean white gold?

My mother in-law (to be

) uses vinegar on everything, including her YG jewelry. I normally use dish soap, a toothbrush and an air can to clean my jewelry (all white gold).

Anyone use vinegar to clean their white gold?
Does it hurt the plating/finish? Would I be stupid to try it? Thoughts?

It''s acidic, it will eat away at WG. Use Mr. Clean and hot water. 3 parts water, 1 Mr. C.
