So it turns out that dangly earrings are not for me! These are so beautiful to look at and the craftsmanship is amazing, but I know I'll never wear them. At least I tried. These will be going up for sale in the Preloved section.

Trust me, I know. From now on I will only buy earrings that I can first try on. Ugh...I'm so annoyed with myself.

I had the same thing happen with the Elsa Peretti silver drops from Tiffany's. Luckily I was within the return period & was only out shipping costs. (And husband frustration - as they were a present from him, at my suggestion.) Live & learn I guess.

Did you see the dangle silver and paste earrings that Kate Middleton wore to a function the other night (see the Royal Jewels thread). You earrings are more fit for royalty. I hope you sell them fast!

Deco, what a coincidence! I got the same pair, but didn't return them in time so I am stuck with them (going to hand them down to the kid, I guess). They actually made my ears feel on fire...I tried to keep them hoping it was because I hadn't worn earrings in forever, but it was an allergy. Gift from TGuy as well, at my suggestion.

I'm glad you were able to return them without taking too much of a loss. I coordinated this purchase while my husband was away on a business trip. I pestered him for hours! Poor man. Well at least this means he won't have to buy me a pair of diamond chandelier earrings in the future

Those are beautiful earrings!

This may be a little O/T but recently I got rid of some beautiful 14K yellow gold huggie earrings made by a respected European designer. They looked great and felt fine on the ears...for just a short while. They were heavy, but not too much. They had thick posts like your earrings. They felt fine wearing them in the store before I purchased them out of the jeweler's 'estate case.'

But then, I noticed that my ears felt on fire, sore, etc. if I wore them even half a day. Usually I never react to gold or platinum earrings, but it had happened once before...and it was also with high-quality heavier earrings with a sturdier post.

Ironically so, because they are 'lightweight junk' in comparison - but my ears are happiest with wearing lightweight hollow 'junk' with thin wires (cheap hollow 14K gold hoops like you find at discount stores.)

Diamond studs with ordinary 14K posts work fine with me, but those screw type post/nuts also make my ears hurt.
