Victor Canera CIH ( Canera Ideal Hearts & Arrows): Where are the arrows?

Hi everyone, I just have a quick question. I have a Victor Canera Ideal Hearts and Arrows ring and I love it so much! My only question is, why don't I see the arrows pattern, I really wanted the contrast with the arrows pattern, I think that really makes a ring look superb, and it's the only thing missing for me. I have taken 100's of pictures and I can never capture the arrows and although it's very sparkley and beautiful, I do not see the arrows with my naked eye or in pictures. Granted, I am only using an iphone 6, so not sure how it would look with a professional camera.
I will post a video of my ring that Victor now uses on his website for the setting.

My ring is 1.4 carats, H, SI1
Table 57.6
Pavilion & Crown 34.0, 40.8

This is the best picture I can get. My ring looks the best when I'm outside on a sunny day.

More pics: Please ignore the wrinkles on my hand OMG when did that happen?

I posted a neat way to do it a while back using a toilet paper roll...let me see if i can find it.

Here it is!! Scroll about halfway down. This way will give yoi great results if you are patient.

Thank you, the pictures don't do it justice, actually, It is far more gorgeous in person. I will look through the link you shared, but my question is more, if this is an ideal cut diamond, then why can't I see the arrows, why aren't they visible to the naked eye?

I see the arrows in your pics. Its just that the pointy "ends" of the arrows are covered by the prongs

I highlighted the arrows here. Using my phone so ignore the not precise lines 20200503_155934.jpg

Thank you for showing me, I guess I wanted them to be more prominent. What would make them more prominent/darker in a diamond? Higher clarity ???

Sometimes it is just matter of how you are taking pictures and under what angle (sunny day will make your stone look different under a different angle.) Also, the quality of pictures might depend on which device you use - you said you used iPhone6 - iPhones have that squared shape focus that you can use when taking pics. Set your device to focus (the square thingy) on the stone (once you do, the black arrows will pop up in the picture.)

Yours are far darker than mine? Is it the color or clarity that makes this so?
I think it's usually the colour of what's being reflected that makes them darker - so if you have a silver, gold or rose gold iPhone it'll reflect lighter than if you have a black iPhone. Most professional pictures would be taken with a DSLR which usually have black lenses/body.

Oh wow, that makes sense, I have a rose gold iphone! I will try it with my fiance's phone next, maybe it'll be different. Thanks :))

Yep, my is lavender (purple). :D

The arrows are there - they just need to reflect something black. You won’t see them as black all the time nor would you want to. They are silver at times or colored depending on a phone case when photographing them.

AH! I did notice that your arrows were a lovely rose colour so that makes sense :)

My arrows are very faint though, even when I look through the loup that Victor provides. They are not sharp and dark like some others I have seen. I am just wondering why this is so?

The photo setups that the vendors use are designed specifically to show the arrows. Camera color, placement, lighting, etc all play a role. In REAL life, the arrows are silvery - a shaft of reflection - again, as the result of lighting, surrounding colors, and the fact that our eyes are binocular, not monocular like a camera. Silvery, subtle flashes of light are what you SHOULD see, not the black arrows like in vendors photos.

Use a TP roll. And walk around the house until you see the arrows pop. Less/low light is best. It’s so cool to see. I also close my hand around my ring and position it just so. It works best in my car since my interior is black.

Your ring is beautiful. Enjoy it!

Here's a pic of my wife's pendant from BGD. You won't see these dark arrows under normal lighting conditions.

That is a very good explanation, thank you!
