hi everyone,

I have been reading information on this site for over a year now. You all helped my fiance to pick out a gorgeous brilliant round diamond (GIA 1.77 ct / F / VS2) so thank you for your help on that. We are now looking for our perfect and both of us were very much drawn to the round center stone which has baguette stones on the side. The only thing is that I can't really find a lot of examples to choose from. I know that some have baguettes that are set very steep and others that are set more flat. I did see one by Leon Mege that I liked, but also found on by Victor Canera that is very nice. I know that Victor Canera does some excellent work, I like in Southern California so it would be nice to get him to make my ring. The only thing is that I showed it to a friend and she said that she didn't like it, and after that she dropped the subject. I don't know why, so I wanted to show it to you all to see what you think.

Here's a video of it

and here's the direct link http://www.victorcanera.com/the-azi-round-trilogy-with-tapered-baguettes

What do you guys think of that setting? do you guys think that it looks nice and classy? please be honest!

Here are some other versions of the setting, so should I go with the Victor Canera or one of the ones below? If you have a ring like this, what advice could you give me? thank you.
This is the Victor Canera

Re: 3 stone round w/ baguettes help me pick out a setting pl

I LOVE the three stone look and I also think everything VC does is amazing. I'm a big fan and would like to own one of his rings one day... but I have to say I don't love the pave' on the band. I think of the three stone with baguettes as being more traditional and the pave' takes a bit away from that beautiful look of the side stones... This is just my opinion... I think you would be over the moon with a ring from VC... many of us here would... :naughty:

I like it but I prefer the plain shank, to me it looks much cleaner and the lines flow better.

I love VC's work  And personally I think the you can't go wrong if you want something classic from him.

I personally dont' care for the pave on the shank but that is just me. I like the clean look of the 3 stone better and would get a bagette band to match or sit flush with the ering for this type of setting. I think that would just look stunning!

Re: Victor Canera 3 stone round baguettes help me pick a set

I too prefer just the three stone and wonder if the pave will rub against your other fingers. I have the three stone version and at times I am bothered by the bezel which holds the side of the baguette in. But either will be beautiful. Go with your gut. Love it and your diamond sounds just gorgeous! :appl:

Everything Victor makes is classy, so I don't think you'd need to worry about that. I, too, prefer the plain shank. The sides baguettes are so elegant. Just remember you will probably have a diamond wedding band, so don't overdo the engagement ring. I prefer the diamond to sit just a bit higher and the baguettes a little longer and thinner. I am not in love with this picture, but I really like the Vatche version. It looks better with a larger center stone, but you can get an idea. I would have Victor make it, though.
